Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted March 5, 2007 He seems like a nice guy , i met him at a Macdonalds in calagry when teh wings were here , No one esle knew the guy , But me and my dad sat down and had a meal with him. My GF Wishes I Was Hank 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2007 I think its a shame that we lost him. He wasnt the greatest goalie but he was still young and i think he could have been great with the wings. Unfortuanelty for him the wings dont lack great goaltending, and being the worst of the best goaltenders in detroit doesnt get you alot of playing time so its better for him that he is gone and playing rather than rotting in the wings minors system. haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted March 5, 2007 Wow. sounds like Joey had a good game. I wonder how long it will take before someone posts that we should've put Ozzy on waivers and kept Joey...

Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted March 5, 2007 Yeah, so it turns out that if the team doesn't phone it in while Joey plays well you get a win.... interesting. Too bad the Wings didn't figure out that formula
CdnWingsFanEh 2 Report post Posted March 5, 2007 (edited) Yeah, so it turns out that if the team doesn't phone it in while Joey plays well you get a win.... interesting. Too bad the Wings didn't figure out that formula I'm not sure it would've mattered. I think he still would have been put on the chopping block. He was the most expendable... Good luck Joey Edited March 5, 2007 by CdnWingsFanEh
Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted March 5, 2007 I'm not sure it would've mattered. I think he still would have been put on the chopping block. He was the most expendable... Good luck Joey Possibly... but damn it he deserved more wins then he got. He played damn well except for that Nashville start.
Flip-check 6 Report post Posted March 5, 2007 Possibly... but damn it he deserved more wins then he got. He played damn well except for that Nashville start. Oh hell yeah Drake, you're my boy on this. I totally agree. Probably wouldn't have got him kept with the organization... but regardless, he did good those games. It was tough not to be fond of him, too. For instance, he's a complete underdog: then secondly, his name is Joey Mac. Can fans not rally around this? His ancestors likely appreciate him in Boston more, however. I can't blame 'em, either.
akustyk 84 Report post Posted March 5, 2007 Joey got game's first star not to shabby if you ask me truth being said, those Bruins are getting it done recently. they may seem down in the standings, but have games in hand and if you look how they perform against good teams, they sure look fine. I hope Lewis brings them into playoff picture. they may fall quickly if it's 8th spot and Buffalo in Round 1, though

GoalieManPat 1,007 Report post Posted March 5, 2007 MacDonald will be the next great goalie in the NHL in the tradition of Glen Hanlon & Bob Essensa!!! O come on give the guy a little credit. He is atleast a Cheveldae
JeeSpot82 10 Report post Posted March 5, 2007 (edited) O come on give the guy a little credit. He is atleast a Cheveldae Remember when Tim Cheveldae was an All-Star? Joey MacDonald will never appear in an NHL All-Star Game. Feel free to call me on it if he does! ALSO, when making your list of Red Wings cast-offs who ended up in Boston, don't forget: Fired GM Mike O'Connell, short-lived Red Wing Jason York, and Griffin turned Providence Bruin Nathan Robinson. For a long time, the Blues were the dumping ground of the Red Wings, but now only have captain Dallas Drake and recently demoted Wings fan-favorite Jamie Rivers. Anyone have a guess at who the other "Former-Wing-turned-other-teams-captain" is? Edited March 5, 2007 by JeeSpot82

Majsheppard 203 Report post Posted March 5, 2007 Remember when Tim Cheveldae was an All-Star? Joey MacDonald will never appear in an NHL All-Star Game. Feel free to call me on it if he does! Those were the days, when the real reason for going to the games was to see Probert get into fights. I wonder if MacDonald could possibly help the Bruins make the playoffs. drwscc 212 Report post Posted March 5, 2007 Anyone have a guess at who the other "Former-Wing-turned-other-teams-captain" is? Isn't Marty Lapointe now or was captain of the Hawks? I thought I remembered reading that. He also had a stint on the B's too.
