Legionnaire11 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2007 (edited) Dale Jr # 8! I'm a Gordon fan. And Speaking of NASCAR. During the most recent Wings game that I watched, there was a commercial for a country music act coming to detroit, immediately followed (or preceded, can't remember which was first) by a commercial for NASCAR at Michigan superspeedway being sold out... ya stinkin rednecks! That's the funny thing about people calling Nashville fans rednecks. When you get outside of the Detroit metro area, Michigan gets fairly rural pretty fast. Especially when you include the U.P I'm not saying it's redneck country, but I know more than a few people from Michigan who grew up four-wheeling, fishing, and driving a tractor to school. hillbillywingsfan 794 Report post Posted March 6, 2007 It's the same here though. There is a lot of untrue information and incorrect judgements about Nashville and the fans. Anytime that a group of fans start talking about a place they they've never been to, or don't frequent. Or if they're talking about a group of fans that they aren't part of, or are rarely exposed to. Or if they're talking about a team that they don't watch, or rarely get to see and get to know that team... then there will be a lot of misinformation floating about. One of the smartest things i've ever read on a message board i've lived in Philly and Nashville. Been to New York, Florida, Ohio, Arkansas, New Jersey, Mississippi, Deleware, Georgia, no place is any smarter than the other, the people and places aren't any better or worse from one place to another. can you not find a place that will accept you?? come to austin tx..we accept everyone here=) *lol*

Louisville 112 Report post Posted March 6, 2007 IMissAlIafrate: Being a former Avs fan (they're my #2 team now, for obvious reasons), my hatred for the Dead Things has been deep-rooted since '96. So I will proudly shout from the mountaintop (or from Section 303)... RED... WINGS... SUCK!!! hahaha, that's just....

EastLansingNative 1 Report post Posted March 6, 2007 All you can really infer from that thread is that they could do a better job moderating their forums. I'm optimistic that there are classy, intelligent, Nashville fans, that may very well avoid that board altogether, because it is agonizingly painful to be subjected to. If I read such garbage here every day, I'd simply cancel my membership, and not return.

DraperFan MN 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2007 Why waste time trolling that site for info to reinforce the idea that you think Preds fans are stupid? We've got an original six team here and one of the better fan forums I've seen, and it's still chock full of stupid if you read the right posts. We've had people here who hated Lidtsrom, hated Yzerman, thought Legace should've won the Vezina... and on and on. Exactly, and you really don't have to go any further than this thread to find stupidity.

Wingsfan31 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2007 I was at the game when Fischer was injured and they didn't tell us jack. I had to get updated by my wife via cell phone, who was getting all her info from the broadcast. For the longest time, everyone thought it was Osgood that went down, that perhaps something struck him on the bench. The Wings completely mishandled that situation. There was some booing when the game was cancelled, but there was no annoucement if they were going to make up the game, etc. They did let us know Fischer was stable and responsive on his way to the ambulance, and everyone cheered for that, obviously. If I read such garbage here every day, I'd simply cancel my membership, and not return. I'm sure there are a lot of bandwagoners who know nothing about hockey and who are interested because a) the NFL season is over, b) they are the only other major professional sport in town, c) the Preds just made a ton of high-profile trades that have increased interest in the team and d) the NASCAR season has just started so there isn't much to talk about there. This is how it used to be on the Ducks and Avs forums too, but you can carry on an intellegent conversation there now.

I'm glad that someone finally responded with a firsthand account. As far as Nashville, their little threads on hating the Wings are pretty immature and ridiculous. I really don't care though, why should it make a difference to me? They have a good team and so do we and if I go to a game and end up fighting a moronic Pred fan then so be it. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Cleveland watching the Lions/Brows game even though one of their fans was a complete idiot and I almost got into a fight with him. BlueMonk 102 Report post Posted March 6, 2007 All fans think the fans of other teams, especially rival teams, are "arrogant" or "don't know anything." It's been that way forever. Wise up already. One qualitative difference between fan forums, however, is the tolerance for bad behavior like trolling and trash talking. In other words, let's hear it for the LGW mods! Wingsfan31 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2007 i just wish wings fans would STFU with the 3 (or 10) cups already lol. Yeah, since it's so common for teams to win 3 Cups in a 10-year period, especially after going 42 years without. I think Wings fans have earned the right to crow about the team's success, especially when people make idiotic statements like "Red Wings Suck" and the like. In other words, let's hear it for the LGW mods! I do wish the Preds boards had better moderation. I believe we only have one Admin/Mod and it can take quite a while sometimes before he comes on and takes down trolls, duplicate threads and other trash. I mean, he's a good mod for sure, but it would be nice to have a few more.

bringback91 2 Report post Posted March 6, 2007 I don't see why alot of people get so worked up anyway. All it is, is computer tough guys. Give me a break. I'd bet 98% of the s*** talkers wouldn't say anything to anyones face on either side. Besides the fact alot of people have taken being labled and turned it into a thing of pride. I for one love telling people when I go out of town that I live 10 mins. outside of Detroit. The reactions are funny. I have family all over the country north south east west, I don't care what some dumbasses on the internet have to say about them or where they live.
