BlueMonk 102 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 I normally have a violent reaction to complaints about the officiating, but tonight was just brutal. Babcock doesn't normally just keep going off like that at the end of the game. I'd like to think that missing a few early calls and listening to the Wings complaining all night on the ice about it wouldn't lead them to "punish" the Wings by giving favorable calls to Nashville. I'd like to think that.

rwfan007 18 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 Can anybody give a quick game summary?? Who played well...how did the Wings play as a team?? I saw the last 10 minutes and everything looked stellar. the refs officiated like they were on the preds payroll, the wings fought though it and won. Flip/Calder were insane out there and ozzie was fantastic

Mooker 0 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 A win playing 5, 4 and sometimes 3 on 7 most of the night is completely satisfying. Is it just me or could you almost see one of the hockey god's hands coming down to help out on goal #4?

haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 game 4 SCF Was that the goal where Joey was along the right side boards, looking like he was going to go wide on the defenseman, then cut hard inside, bringing the puck through the stick and skates of the d-man, and ripped a hard wrist shot from near the faceoff circle for the goal? I'd like to think that. Wings prevailed (more than) with 18 minutes of penalties. That's like playing an entire period shorthanded! I can't imagine that anyone would disagree that the ice was tilted by the refs in Nashville's direction.
datsyukismyfriend 4 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 calder lang and hudler were great, obviously. dats line looked 10 times better as soon as flip replaced sammy (hopefully permanently til z is back). huds and flip have been great on scoring lines, this is good for our future. refs sucked!!!! Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 Woohoo! What a game! Heck of game by Kyle Calder! This guy is great! What a pickup by Ken Holland. 3 point game tonight. Excellent! Matt 1,049 Report post Posted March 14, 2007 Can anybody give a quick game summary?? Who played well...how did the Wings play as a team?? I saw the last 10 minutes and everything looked stellar. For the first half of the game (well, most of it overall) the Predators controlled play 5-on-5. It was aided by a BAD discrepency in the penalty-calling (some of it was undiciplined -- and some of it was undiciplined and justified) so the Wings were shorthanded frequently in the 1st and 3rd period. I guess the best way to look at it is that the Red Wings played a gritty (!) game that -- despite giving up 2 goals -- was strong on the penalty kill when it counted and when they did get scoring opportunities they closed the deal. Osgood came up with the big stops when needed. Very high marks for Kyle Calder and Valtteri Filppula -- Flip especially -- as both had their hard hats on and went to work all night. (I'm still surprised some people were so upset about the Williams swap for Calder... Has this guy been dynamite or what?) Basically, it was the kind of effort expected after laying that egg on Sunday.
