servo 15 Report post Posted April 14, 2007 In the big picture, this and following matches could be a long haul for the Wings and I'd reather have him as effective and playing at 100%! This should really motivate Rex!
HkyTwn 5 Report post Posted April 14, 2007 If he is then I want Bertuzzi dammit. If they get to have new toys in the lineup then I want one too. Here here! Well, on a positive note, the lineup we sent out on Thursday played really well. I agree. Even though I want to see Bert in, I'm all right with him being rested up a little more and unleashed in the dome
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted April 14, 2007 DAMN IT!!!!!!!! Ok, no need to panic... yet. The Wings played great in Game 1. Hopefully they can match the intensity and physical play in Game 2 without Bertuzzi.
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted April 14, 2007 Damn it , I was looking forward to iginla having someone stand up to him. Bring on game 3 I suppose. I know how many of you like Hudler , but man , I wish Bert could play.
rwfan007 18 Report post Posted April 14, 2007 read the sig, we have the heart this year. I could tell by the way they played in game 1 that they were in it for the long haul this year

Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted April 14, 2007 The big difference is the type of injury. Head injury >> Leg injury. If you rush a leg injury, you may require surgery or extra rehab, whereas if you rush a head injury you may require a bodybag. Cool heads prevail.

Rice 42 Report post Posted April 14, 2007 Oh well. This lineup had no trouble beating the Flames on Thursday. I'm also doubting how effective Regehr will be. If today was the first day he skated and he's still a game-time decision I don't think he'll play very well if he does end up getting in. It's different on his end of the ice when you're playing on one leg. Guys like Hank and Pavel won't have trouble beating him if he cant shadow them at all times. esteef 2,679 Report post Posted April 14, 2007 I don't get it. The medical staff already cleared him to play yesterday, why are we still holding him back? Calgary WILL come out more physical tomorrow and it's when we'll need Bert the most. If he's cleared, play him I say. esteef

If the Docs say you're fine and ready to play..then you can. Maybe he'll be in the warm ups and be a game time decision if they feel they really need him. barabbas16 499 Report post Posted April 14, 2007 Anyone think that the conditional draft picks based on the amount of playoff games Bertuzzi plays in has anything to do with the decision against his playing tomorrow?

Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted April 14, 2007 Sigh... I miss the child-like joy on his face when the opposition picks itself up off the ice, unsure of what just happened or why their everything hurts. Joy for another day... Get well soon, Todd! Anyone think that the conditional draft picks based on the amount of playoff games Bertuzzi plays in has anything to do with the decision against his playing tomorrow? Not really. Wings have been pretty gung-ho about moving picks in the past. It's the salary cap era and all that, but the Wings are smart enough to know that Game 1 was a cakewalk and if they can get some muscle for Game 2 they should take it. I genuinely believe he's still hurt. Maybe if he had to play he would, but concussions are risky business.
sergei_is_still_a_wing 1 Report post Posted April 14, 2007 i don't care if bert has a broken neck. if the wings lose game 2 or the players continue to get run at, bert had better be in for game three. we got him for a reason and this is it. playoff time. if he doesn't play now there may not be a next round for him to get in on. of course im exagerating but it just sucks that he isn't playing cus id love to see him kill iginla. I miss the child-like joy on his face when the opposition picks itself up off the ice, unsure of what just happened or why their everything hurts. Joy for another day... Get well soon, Todd! The more fearsome fact in this is: the longer he waits, the bigger the pounce. He is building kinetic energy in that strong body of his, and WOE to he who receives a gift such as that! As Mick'd say: "It's like he kept squeezin' that tomato can that sat on the counter all the night through, then he finally got sick of holding back and threw it against the wall. And boy'd it splatter all over the place then! Wouldn't want to be the one waking up to that in the morning! Ha, ha, ha!"

You may be exaggerating, but the point is valid. If we win tomorrow night's game we'll have a 2 game cushion and Bert can "rest" game 3. If Calgary wins, the series is even and they go back home for 2 games, everyone knows how hard it is to get a win there. Use our advantages when we have them! esteef

arnoldbuck 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2007 It does suck. I mean, truth be told, the extra rest can only be good for him. So that when he does return he will be tip-top. But I have a feeling with the way game 1 went and ended, it is going to be rough. So we probably coulda used that size and strength. It's on you Lilja.
