BringHomeTheCup! 0 Report post Posted May 10, 2007 If you rounded up all the people, guests included, on this website and forced them to answer a survey about whether they would go see the Wings if they could...the numbers of yes's would be enough to fill up what the JLA is lacking from night to night. I think that fact alone shuts down the debate. It's obviously not that people don't want to go. We've had a constant stream of replies about how people want to go but can't. For cripes sake, can't this be put to rest at some point?

I know you said you don't want to sit in the 200's but guess what... Shockingly THAT IS your price range! These are OVER $300, but well anything less and you are then in the 20ish rows. Those are only 2 rows in front of our season tickets... Pretty sweet view. You should go! Edited May 10, 2007 by OsGOD

CUJO#31 0 Report post Posted May 10, 2007 My In Laws have seats in the BACK row, they love it and I really don't think seats in the back row are that bad. (talking Upper Bowl back row) Granted they are at center ice but hey, those are nice seats. I'd hardly say the players look like ants from those seats, lol. I'd just love to be there, don't care where the seats are

SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted May 10, 2007 I haven't read through all the replies and pages, but I'll throw in my 2 pennies... It's not hard to figure out why Wings games are having a hard time selling out unfortuantely, no need to rehash those points as they've been beaten to death with 20 different 2 x 4's. It is what it is... It's kinda interesting actually to read and learn how much a lot of people in Detroit are Michigan are struggling right now with the poopy economy; my neck of the woods is obviously still struggling in the rebuilding after Hurricane Katrina overall, it's frustratingly slow in a lot of places, but there is progress. And I try to compare the Wings situation to the situtaion of the New Orleans Saints, if there can be such an accurate comparison. Anyways, the New Orleans Saints this year was THE stress reliver for plenty of people down here. The Superdome sold out all eight games, plus there was an extra playoff game, even with our population in New Orleans and the immediate Gulf Coast being crippled from Katrina. While the Saints finally started winning again, a lot of that had to do with a brand new coach, a new QB in Drew Brees, and of course drafting RB Reggie Bush to top it all. I can guarantee you that if Bush didn't fall into the Saints lap and the Saints didn't sign Drew Brees, we would have been having the same problems down here with not as many rears in the seats as we'd like as is the current problem at JLA. Things just worked out for the Saints beyond everybody's wildest imagination, and they won finally. I think people down here have been so stressed out this past year and a half that people just wanted to have some semblence of relaxation, regardless of how much a single ticket or season tickets cost. But you are talking about eight(8) games over the ENTIRE SEASON... Hell I could go to the entire NHL season if it was only 8 games.... No matter what price. Hockey season is 41 plus 16 possible in the post... Much harder to religiously sell out a venue for that long. Keep in mind we sold out the entire regular season... just stopped when prices raised....What the main variable that has changed in that time... Price per ticket. A direct cause and effect. I totally see where you are trying to go... however, comparing a short Football season with a hockey season which the post season alone will play more than most football teams will the entire season... is not really the best example. Football is a HUGE sport everywhere, way more than hockey and they have LESS games to have to fill in a season. Edited May 10, 2007 by OsGOD

I would love to have gotten them from a fan but I got burned doing that once. i just don't like people whining about prices...I live in Pittsburgh. To go see the Pens, the prices really stink compared to the JLA and Mellon Arena is a REAL OLD dump. I take every opportunity I can to see the Wings whether in Detroit or C-bus. Maybe if I lived in Detroit and could go all the time I would have a different opinion.

I guarantee that if you were to move to Michigan you probablly wouldn't be making NEAR what you are now... Hence the YOU CAN AFFORD and WE CAN'T AFFORD arguements. Spending $135,000 on a car is also nothing out of the ordinary IF you are making millions... Its all relative to your salary... csdan 0 Report post Posted May 10, 2007 (edited) I had no idea that you guys are getting raked that bad for playoff tickets. Those prices are crazy. As a season ticket holder for the Avs I too, probably would not get playoffs at those prices, so i don't blame the fans one bit. Just an example of what Avs would have charged if they made it to the playoffs were my seats are. Upper level corner 4th row and are great seats: reg season $34 per seat. 1st round: $44 2nd round: $48 3rd round: $55 Cup round: $68 Cheapest seats regular season $21 1st: $27 2nd:$29 3rd:$34 4th:$42 Do you guys think they would be this expensive if you were in a new arena? I'm sorry you real fans have been priced out of the playoffs especilly now that the Wings seem to be putting a special season together. Anyways good luck against the Ducks, should be a great series. You guys....personally I WISH I could have the OPTION of turning down going to an NHL game where I live. I am so jealous of all of you guys who live near a town or IN THE SAME STATE for that matter, with an NHL team. Wisconsin has NONE! You should be thankful that you at least have the chance to go (should the chance ever arise). Anyway, I'll be peeled to my tv Friday night as the rest of you, I'm sure, will be. I'll be praying the Wings play a solid, strong game with no mistakes. GO WINGS!!
