The last time I checked the rules, slamming your elbows into the back of someone's head is an illegal hit. It's even worse if the person you hit is up against the glass. I don't know what you saw, but I saw Pronger's forearms come up head level with Homer and slam him face-first into the glass. Tell me how that's not an illegal hit.

Kudos for Holmstrom for coming back in the 3rd. Not bad for a european which most francophone media members in Montréal spend their time saying that these guys don't have heart. Well Holmstrom has as much guts/heart than any north-american player.

Pronger's done this his whole career. Whenever his team gets down in a game, he tries to take someone from the other team out. It's almost always an elbow too. He needs to just man up and take the loss, come back and try again next game.

Hitting someone from behind head first into the boards warrents a suspension. Homer could have been seriously injured - aside from potentially missing the playoffs.

I don't like Pronger - but what a disgrace to the game of hockey. This loser gets nominated for the Norris? Has anyone ever seen Nick Lidstrom pull something even remotely as dirty as cheap? No, he can be the best in the game w/o such brutality. I would be ashamed if one our guys did that to another team''s players. Ducks fans should be ashamed, but from what I;m reading here, they're not. Look at it this way, if someone on the Wings did that to one of the Ducks, and they went out for the playoffs, ask yourself how you would feel? Thank god Homer wasn't hurt badly - I was really worried there..

Wow Pronger starts his cheapshots again, with a huge elbow to smash Homers face into the glass and he gets nothing!?! What he did was alot worse than what Rob did, Pronger should be gone and Rob should still be out there.

Absolutely, Rob hit him with a shoulder, maybe a bit high but a shoulder is still pretty clean in my opinion. When you get both hands up to the back of someone's head and slam it into the glass like Pronger did though you should be held accountable. I'm not sure if the ref's had a bad angle or what, but it was clear to me watching it on TV that Pronger did alot more damage than Rob N, and it wasn't by accident. I don't care how frustrated you get out there, you're supposed to be a proffesional, save that crap for the ECHL, Prongs just went down another notch on the respect meter in my book.

i have a feeling pronger won't get suspended. i'll eat my words gladly if i'm wrong...but given the fact that homer wasn't hurt and that pronger didn't get a penalty on the play...i'd be really surprised if they issued one. plus you know people would start shouting about the league determining the series by pulling a norris-nominated d-man from the western conference finals...even though that hit could have easily taken out one of our most effective players for the rest of the playoffs.

i'll just say this: if homer isn't half the iron man he is, he sits out the rest of the game and it makes pronger look that much worse. but, even up four zip, homer comes back and keeps adding to the humiliation.

i also don't want to see any retaliation for this...other than we win the next two games and take the series in five. send the ducks packing -- we get the series and prove to everyone that we're a classy team, not cheap shot-dealing children. even todd -- it's a new page in that guys book, being with the class acts from d-town.

You know, Ive been lurking around other sites on the internet (not the Ducks) for opinions of what fans of other teams think, and Id say about 90% (excluding Ducks fans) think Pronger should at least get 1 game. Add on to the fact that Versus AND TSN are sayings its suspension worthy, and Pronger just may be up in the press box for Game 4.

if you're asking me, i am 100% sure that he SHOULD get a suspension. i'll be honest in that i haven't followed hockey for that many years, so i don't know much about pronger's history. but from what i've been reading in the last two years since i started watching, few people have confidence in bettman and the nhl front office. i think the right call is to suspend...i'm just not sure that it will happen. lord knows i'd like it to.

also, i was just over at the ducks board, and one of them was saying that homer "ducked" what would have otherwise been a clean hit. alright. i'm sure he caught a reflection of pronger in the glass just in time to put his head directly in the way of two gloved hands streaking towards the back of his head at (literally) break-neck speed. i won't say that i'm the most objective hockey fan in the world, but for god's sake.
