Pronger at it again: elbow to McAmmond's head

Look, don't kill me! I got about 2 hours of sleep last night and had to be up at 5:30 AM for my own hockey game this morning. I'm dead tired and I'm trying to make sense out of all of this. I'm only 16 and didn't see my first game until I was 12, so my knowledge of Pronger has pretty much no basis besides being here, so I don't know the extent of his bad reputation. My apologies.

It's OK, Duckette. We're not after you, not at all. There just is no excuse for Pronger, although he certainly can come up with them in a heartbeat. Along with the "physics theory, my favorite excuse to date is that he "can't remember" what he did last night to McAmmond. It ranks right up there with your GM saying Homer got hurt because he didn't have his helmet on correctly. Do you see why we are derisive and condemning of certain aspects of your darling Duckies??

Burke and Pronger do not define the Ducks' organization, but they ARE the face of it, like it or not. There isn't a Red Wing (not even Bert) who would think of doing and saying the junk that is coming out of Anaheim right now. I think it's sad that Pronger thinks he should skate away from this incident and be held blameless in what he did to Homer, as well. He's delusional, or else he's just plain dirty. And I hate him.

Anyway, none of this is directed at you personally, OK? But I, for one, do not buy any sort of excuses or defense for Pronger. And I am sorry his behavior and Burke's comments reflect on your team. One bad apple is all it takes, sweetie, and you guys have got a really smelly one in your locker room.

I hope the Sens beat the stuffing out of the Ducks, and we get to watch a great team from Ottawa carry the Cup.

Yep here to hoping some team will beat the s*** out of that team tomorrow! Wings missed their call. Somebody needs to teach them a lesson on what happens when you cheap shot repeatedly.

Wow... repeat offender over and over again... he should be banned from the NHL for a year or at least have his elbows cut off.

ONCE AGAIN!

McClennan is on the Golf Course with his lap top saying....

WHAT THE f***! I got 5 games for 1 time and he gets 2 games in 2 different series!

NHL is a f-ing joke when it comes to suspensions!

EDITED to add ^ officiating as well

Going by this, I think he probably should have gotten two games for the Holmstrom hit. Glad to see him punished though. I really hope this guy never touches the Stanley Cup.

Wow. I just got back to my hotel room and turned on tsn and saw that...(in Toronto).

Personally i think since this is his second infraction of the playoffs it should be 2 games - or maybe the rest of the playoffs. I just think if you are going to repeatedly do that, there needs to be a stiffer penalty. Well, hopefully the Sens can take advantage like the Wings could not. I know alot of people here don't like the Ducks - but I kind of feel bad for them that this loser keeps doing this - it reflects on their organization. But then again, Burke doesn't care- that's his kind of player. Anyone know if McAmmond will play?

Seriously, the nhl really needs to do something about him. Hes obviously going to keep playing the way he's been playing, regardless of whether he gets a game suspension or not. Unfortunately its not realistic to suspend him for the remainder of the playoffs because that would be incentive for the nhl to loose a large part of the already weak California fanbase. Fines always end up being chump-change to these players, making millions each year anyway.

I think in addition to the one game suspension, there should be a probation, where if he is put in this situation again over the next season + playoffs, hes going to be doing a large amount of time (on the scale of months) as well as sacrifice any money that he would be earning in that time to the nhl.

This has really been going on for too long and the nhl has the health of the players to keep in mind.

Don't get me wrong...I'm still in stunned shock that the NHL has done anything, but I think they are playing favorites...don't want their little Norris candidate locked up too long in the big bad jail.

Hmm got to wonder!

Pronger got suspended on 2 different plays BOTH (changed back right after hit took place so I am just guessing on this part) not involving a PENALTY in the game.... NHL officiating that BAD or are they just turning their heads to the Ducks flagarant fouls?

Hello all!

Been lurking for quite a while and decided to post my thoughts about the Ducks and Pronger's unnecessary hit on Dean McAmmond. As a passionate Ducks fan since 2003 I've felt that we're a goon squad and at times we do intentionally play rough, that I think is true and every NHL team knows that. But last night was totally vicious hence I only heard about it this morning. All I can say is I'm completely shocked and Pronger does willingly deserve a boot from the SCF's.

Should have been the series. He is a head hunter and someday I hope he gets what he actually deserves.

Yes should be the series - that's 2 intentional head injuries in the last few weeks. Disgrace. Sadly, he's may end someone's career with one of his cheapshots next time - hopefully his own. Maybe the Cup can conk him on the head and give him a taste of his own medicine....

Wow, considering he's a repeat offender, and that there wasn't even a month in between his suspensions, I'd have expected at minimum 2 games, but one again? They're seriously going way too easy on the guy. He should be out for as long as McAmmond is out, or longer.

You guys might actually play better without him - we'll see. I'm wondering if some of the guys in the lockerroom are getting a little tired of this too. Great Cup run - great hockey -real close - and all anyone can ever talk about or focus on is one guy's dirty hits. I still think the Ducks are going to win, but imagine if the Sens do what the Wings could not and turn the series around. I bet he'll get run out of Anaheim faster than a speeding bullet....
