Guest DetroitIan Report post Posted August 22, 2007 Ha! Good. I was hoping he wouldnt sign with the Rangers. This guy still has alot to offer as a player. And honestly, Im happy to see the division getting deeper. All the bad teams from the division last year, have all improved during the offseason.

Earthhuman 8 Report post Posted August 22, 2007 Check it out! Columbus is stealing the other teams stars (Foote, Fedorov, Peca) and building a decent team! Not bad.

hckypete96 3 Report post Posted August 22, 2007 thats not a bad pick up for the bj's... they've got cash to spend... wouldnt be suprised if they throw some money at markov too seeing as how he would be on their top d pairing.
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted August 22, 2007 Another washed up shell lands in Columbus. Who's next you may ask? Why, it could be a number of names! Eric Lindros, Dan McGillis, Janne Niinimaa, even Alexei Yashin plans his NHL comeback in Columbus! Watch and see. Sorry, I can't help myself. Columbus is just such a knack as being a safehaven for washed up players.
WingMachine91 0 Report post Posted August 22, 2007 well they only have 3, and 2 of them wernt washed up when they got them. its more of a right of passage for players on the verge of being washed up. cause peca's is not washed up status yet, but after a season in columbus...u bet ur ass he will be haha

Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted August 22, 2007 (edited) you'd think they'd have learned there lesson from "dancin" anson carter. Nobody could predict Carter would play that badly, considering he was just coming off a 33 goal season. Even though pretty much all of those goals came from his enhanced play by the Sedin twins. Regardless, no way in hell would I have even considered signing Carter if I was an NHL GM. There is a reason why he's played for virtually every team in the league: he's a cancer, and none of his teammates like him at all. Notice that almost every team he plays for also fails to make the playoffs when he's on the team. Coincidence? I think not. Like I stated: his play was enhanced by the Sedin twins. Still, I don't think anyone expected him to play as badly as he did in Columbus. Edited August 22, 2007 by Kp-Wings
ben_usmc 253 Report post Posted August 22, 2007 sorry to stray from the subject but is there an exact instance that someone could show me of Carter being a cancer? I'm not arguing just wondered why everyone has said that
BeeRYCE 2 Report post Posted August 22, 2007 Something about a rather big player going to Columbus makes me laugh, especially when there were bigger teams lined up for Pec.
OsGOD 3 Report post Posted August 22, 2007 Check it out! Columbus is stealing the other teams stars (Foote, Fedorov, Peca) and building a decent team! Not bad. they only learn from the best! I am glad he is in the Western Conference now... and especially in our divison, it will be nice to see him play live a few more times!
Henkka 0 Report post Posted August 22, 2007 Schit, that aschole come to our division. Zeta, Dats and Kronner should be aware about Peca's knee tackles.
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted August 22, 2007 Why go to columbus when you couldve gone to new york? Don meehan strikes again with his stupidity. Anyways , too bad for Peca , poor guys gonna miss the playoffs again and have a terrible season to boot.

Anyways , too bad for Peca , poor guys gonna miss the playoffs again and have a terrible season to boot. Because New York couldn't afford more than 700k without getting rid of a significant roster player? Peca said they had an agreement in place for three weeks...that means Sather was trying to open up some cap space for Peca and couldn't.

Peca will also get more ice-time on a team like Columbus than he would with the Rangers.
VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted August 22, 2007 I don't care what anyone says, Columbus improved a lot this off season. They were going strong at end of last season, they got rid of some riff-raff, and they got a decent player in Peca. This could be the upstart team of the season, quite possibly contending for one of the lower playoff spots.
