I figured it would have to do with Gordie!

Me too, he was the only guy I could think of old enough to be somebody's childhood idol and still playing when that kid was retiring too. haha.
thanks offsides!

Tony Esposito. Hes MTU Alumni(I go there now). 15 shutouts first full season.

15 shutouts is not a record...the record is 22.

It's not Esposito.

My first guess was going to be Brian Leetch....but that's not right...really only satisfies one of the parameters.

That's a possibility....is he the right answer?

Then again, he technically didn't set an NHL record in his first year, he only TIED a record...which still stands, so it probably isn't him.

Gotta be Joe Juneau.

Tied for most assists in a rookie season with 70 with Peter Stastny (still stands today) and went to Rensselaer Polytechnic.

Graduated with a degree in aeronautical engineering in just 3 years with a 4.0 GPA.

Do you even know the name of the college Selanne went to? If you do, then you should be the one writing these quizzes.

Next one...
I played for a school more famous for producing scientists than hockey players.
In my first full year in the league, I set an NHL record that still stands today.
I played with a fellow alumni on my first NHL team, and then again on my second NHL team.

Let's Go Tech!

I went to Tech my freshman year then transferred, too many guys and too much snow.

But I still say they had/have the most entertaining Marching Band, and being a Freshman watching my school play in the Big House was a thrill as well.

I remember going up there and being like, well there are no girls, it's snowing everyday, well at least I got my NHL...then a month in they started the NHL lockout....

My guess is Mike Bossy, for highest Rookie Plus/Minus in a season?
