savaking72 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2007 Besides siting on the lead at the end of the 2nd...don't you think Hasek looks VERY slow. You can count to 5 before he gets up, and what about laying down everytime the puck comes to the net? I'll wait to see how he plays on the west coast before I say anymore! Even though...we should not be giving up 2 goal leads to any teams...especially division rivals. We looked way to slow, and unorganized at the end of the second/third. Lite the Fires Babcock! Datsyukian Geek 2 Report post Posted October 13, 2007 Guess you missed the part where I said changes to be made. There's something wrong with the offense, defense, and goaltending right now. It's unacceptable. There may be something wrong with the team, but standings speak fairly loudly, I think. Specifically, the standings that say the only team we've lost to out of three teams and fives games is the Blackhawks.

Lite the Fires Babcock! if you've watched Dom for longer than he's been a Red Wing or even since then, he starts slow, typically. But being Wings fans, many are ready to toss in the towel five games in. He got a one-line team to deal with and a boat-load of penalties (a couple deserved, several of them not so much). Tonight he didn't even have the "top line" show up. edit: except for Z, thank you for being there, Hank. Dom will adjust. Not so sure about a couple of the others. LeftWinger 5,153 Report post Posted October 13, 2007 ...lets all get rational here. We have problems when all we have is one good line (and Dats is stinking up the ice on that line.) For the life of me I don't know why Cleary isn't on the 2nd line, Sammy absolutely is out of his element in the NHL. Someone earlier said Fedorov won't help this team, HAHAHAHAHA, Fedorov is better than most of our team right now! I'd put him on the first line with Zetterberg and Holmstrom. Lilja does suck, he has no business being on the ice, it's not Hasek's fault, although for $4 million I will blame him a little. Babcock must be fired. His system is garbage. The 'D' will do minus Lilja. Hudler, Sammy, Kopecky, Maltby you guys got to go! Drake is doing what he was signed to do. Datsyuk needs to become the old (pre zillion dollar contract) Datsyuk soon, or he can catch the first a320 out of here too! I'd rather cut Lilja, Sammy, Kopecky & Hudler and bring in some players that REALLY want to play, or should I say CAN play. Feds would GREATLY improve this team as would have a few other UFA's that we passed on just so we can give Hasek & Datsyuk WAAAAAAYYYY too much money. Sure it's early, sure we started similar last season, but if things don't change by December, heads better start rolling. Thus far, in all the games this season, the Wings have looked Horrible! Just my opinion...

Nero 20 Report post Posted October 13, 2007 Well hopefully by November we'll have some discipline. Losing a 2 goal lead like this is ridiculous. Well played, Hawks.
YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted October 13, 2007 The Hawks always play us hard. To be honest, thats the best performance from any team we've played yet for the 2nd and 3rd periods. They really wanted it. But then again, theres a lot of people that want to do the Wings one over on that squad for various reasons. At any rate, I was extremely pissed to see Sammy playing out there so much. He looked terrible from what I saw. Then again, nobody really looked sharp outside of Draper, I thought. I think it was just an off night in general for the squad. It really looked like we couldnt do anything right tonight. But in all honesty, Im kinda worried about Haseks play, but ill give him some time to get up to game speed. Datsyuk is a slow starter too, so I wont worry about that yet. Lets pause for a second, though, and realize that 3-1-1 is not a bad record at all.

Just my opinion... 5 games into the season and you are throwing half the team under the bus..get a ******* grip on your life dude and maybe check your blood pressure while you are at it. Its so early in the season and it just makes me laugh my ass off to hear people like you lose your mind. This team can play better and they will but for f*** sakes I don't think there is any need to panic with 77 games to go.

clutchngrab 12 Report post Posted October 13, 2007 Bad calls, bad defense and mediocre goaltending combined with a flat bunch of forwards. Hudler and Flip have done nothing this year, and Sammie is inconsistent. But the big problems are on D. Lebda, Kronwall and especially Lilja have been pretty brutal so far. Rafalski is no stantion in his own end either. Essentially, the D is crap and its not the forwards fault for the most part. Damn straight its OZZIE TIME! f- that its Howard time! Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted October 13, 2007 So this is twice now the Wings have gotten screwed against the Hawks.....Dat's goal shoulld've counted in the first game making it 4-1, and Homer's goal should have never been waved off becasuse he never touched Habbi, making it 3-0. Plays solid in all situations; had over 5 minutes on the PK tonight. Hasn't got a point but they'll come soon enough. As for Kronwall, still not seeing this massive potential yet. HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted October 13, 2007 (edited) The Wings sat back the second they got the 2-0 lead. They got outplayed after that and they know it. While we shouldn't have lost, it could be a good thing. Maybe it'll wake them up a bit eh? They'll be fine. Having a 3-1-1 record is not something to cry or mope about. Seriously. Let's move on to the Kings shall we? GO WINGS!!! Bad calls, bad defense and mediocre goaltending combined with a flat bunch of forwards. LOL "Huds and Flip have done nothing this year." So you base a year off of five games eh? Exaggerate much? And Rafalski has been playing solid. Especially considering it's going to take him time to fully adjust to the Wings type of play. Some of you are unbelievable with your comments. It's been five games. Stop acting like it's the end of the world. irishtemper14+25 11 Report post Posted October 13, 2007 the wings seem to have deflated right after a should be goal was called off...all be it the one tonight was a tough call and the ref made what he thought was the right call

Superman54 91 Report post Posted October 13, 2007 Hopefully Hasek can start playing better, has not had the greatest start. Does not have many shots either, so I hope he can bounce back. Lilja looked like crap out there. Wings felt way to comfortable out there, I hope after the 2nd time they can now learn from their mistake and not take Chicago forgranted.
