Unfortunately, unless the Griffins are playing the Admirals I don't get to see them play. Even when they are playing each other there's a 50-50 chance I still don't get the game.

I'm in the same boat as you. I love watching the Griffs when they play the Admirals though. I feel like the only Griffs fan there

i don't think neither is stellar, or great...i certainly wouldn't want osgood as our #1 goalie for a prolonged period of time (weather or not he has been hot to start the year)

I bet the Yotes, Leafs and Predators would like to have him in net.... :D

Can't say I didn't see this one coming. I'm just surprised it appears to be a relatively minor injury. Hopefully he recovers soon, because as much as I think sticking with Hasek was a mistake, it's good for the team to have two solid veterans able to play in net.

They could say your an idiot for not taking Osgood over the 2 mentioned, not a good thing to say.

I may take Toskala over Ozzie, but not Mason, he's very overated and not very good. For the price tag though, Ozzie is much better, and has more wins then both too ;).

If he's looking ginger right now, I say play Ozzie and Howard for a while.

Let Dom more than take his time and heal up. We're well-ran enough to have the regular season be the pre-playoffs and I'm sure Kenny and Babs aren't gonna take any chances either.

I always thought the "regular season" was the post pre-season.

I always thought the "regular season" was the post pre-season.

It could also be the following...

PRE-PLAYOFF SEASON

NON-PLAYOFF SEASON

NON-PRESEASON

NON-PRESEASON AND NON-PLAYOFF SEASON

THE SEASON IN BETWEEN THE PRESEASON AND POSTSEASON

:P

Hopefully Hasek get's healthy and comes back soon. Wether you guys like it or not Dom is our shot at the cup this year and was last year. I like Osgood and all but when it comes playoff time and your goalie is Osgood.. yea watch out for those blueline shots Ozzie! lol

But anyways the games Howard has played here he's been horrible and looks like crap in net. The games i saw him play the past couple of years he looked nervous in net and if he made any saves the puck would bounce back out every time for easy rebounds. Now I'm not bashing him and i know he's young and we put him in too early the past couple of years but i have never seen him play in GR and i have only seen him here and i was not impressed.

Love Ozzie and I'm sure he can carry the load and Good Luck to Howard! If he does get to play maybe he's more mature and prepared! :)

Having Osgood as your playoff goaltender is never a bad thing. He always play his best during the post season.

According to Yahoo sports and I also saw on ESPN's bottom line that it is not day to day but he is out indefinitely.

This might be a little more serious than thought.

I don't think so.

It really sounds like he needs a little time to heal his sore hip.

Give it a couple of days of rest and Dom will be fine.

He has a sore hip people, not two broken legs..

According to MLIVE:

http://blog.mlive.com/redwingsinsider/2007...ed_from_gr.html

Wings goaltender Dominik Hasek has "hip irritation,'' forcing the club to recall Jimmy Howard from Grand Rapids. Howard will serve as Chris Osgood's backup for Friday's game vs. San Jose.

"It's nothing major,'' Wings general manager Ken Holland said of Hasek's ailment. "But, it's early in the season. It's bothering him enough that we're hoping with a few days off it'll go away.''

Hasek won't practice the next few days but will travel with the team to western Canada, as will Howard. To make room, the Wings placed Dallas Drake (fractured cheekbone) in injured reserve.

Holland said Hasek's injury has been lingering over the last week, but added that if it were a playoff game tomorrow, Hasek would be able to start

Here is my question careful it has steps to it and I haven't finished my first cup of coffee yet my logic could be skewed.

If J-Ho is the future and he is in GR to get experience and build his skill set,

and Osgood is going to be the starter and J-Ho the back up,

What is the point in bringing J-Ho up?

Has the wings goaltending corp gotten so weak that he is the only viable option for an NHL back up?

Is this a longer term issue than we know and he is going to get some NHL ice time?

I am just glad to see J-Ho up with the big club and I hope he shines. I also hope that this is the '08 tandem for the wings!!!

I did read somewhere, I dont remember where sorry for lack of the source, that Howard might get the start on Sunday, I realize that is a might, but if he can get a game or two in the NHL over the next couple of weeks, that will be great experience for him.

Not trying to hijack this thread, but what ever happend to there Swedish goaltending prospect, I forget his name right now, but I see he is not on the Griffins roster, I assume he returned to the SEL?
