Ummm....I love homer and all but aren't we having delusions of grandeur here? Or are we just being homers? No pun intended.

Homer is great but historically he scores his goals on the PP and he scores alot of "garbage" goals.

Call me crazy but some part of me sees him not doing so well in an All Star game where people are flying up and down the ice. Homer isn't that great a skater. I think the all star game is going to be full of guys who can turn a 13 second lap around the rink. Whereas homer would be more like a 30 second lap around.

Remember, the all star game is so different from how the regular season is played. I honestly doubt Homer could keep up on a roster full of guys who can outskate him backwards.

Homer wouldn't get the national attention Rory did. Remember, he isn't a 'good guy' in the NHL, most fans in most cities hate him.

You may see it as just the 'stupid All Star game' ,but this is how I see it.

A way for borderline fans to get into the game. It's a great opportunity for the NHL to grow the sport, and the product. I would love to see Hank, Vinny, Sid, and AO whored out to promote the game, and see it succeed in bringing in those fence sitting fans.

The power of a name...not that I expected Osgood to be on the ballot, but thus far, come on...I understand the hype and big-name aspect and all, but none the less, nothing Hasek has done thus far this season warrents his name on the ballot. He obviously won't come close to making it, but none the less, it just strikes me as stupid and oxymoronic considering there are a lot of guys having great years that aren't big names that aren't on it.

Adding Holstrom would be chaos.. He would probably set the record for most PIM for an All-Star game.. And all he would have to do is stand in from of the goalie within 4 feet because they wouldnt want any goalies to get touched during the all-star game..

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the whole point of the All Star game is for the fans to see who they want to see play. It's always been a popularity contest as far as I can remember.

WTF @ the guy that said that Hudler is a better skater than Holmstrom. The only skater on the team worse than Hudler is Downey. Hudler is probably one of the worst skaters in the NHL at this point.

Downey isn't that bad of a skater. I'd actually consider Kopecky the worst skater on the team, because he seems to do more falling on the ice than skating.
