Salviaman 104 Report post Posted December 1, 2007 (edited) Chris Osgood has been playing some very solid goaltending this year and is very hot right now, honestly it makes me wonder why we even got rid of him for Hasek in the first place;it makes me wonder if we would have gone farther in the playoffs the past couple years with him in net? . Then there is this Czech kid named Jiri Hudler, he is kinda getting a little mean out there when the whistle blows seriously though i would have never guessed that Hudler would have out scored Zetterberg in point sin the month of November... that is crazy, he has been looking like a completely different player than he was last year...I mean Rex took a hit from one of the hardest hitters, if not the hardest hitter in the NHL today, and he was able to come back and produce for the team the next game, that gives me alot of respect for that crazy Czech! I Have to say that the Wing that has impressed me the most so far has been Chris Osgood. Way 2 go Ozzie !!! Rex has impressed me alot this year as well... but not as much as Osgood. He is the master of disaster! He is so concentraterd out there he looks like hes been watching Patrick Roy Videos and doing everything he saw except the being a jackass part. I want to see the Roy vs. Osgood fight again, it made me laugh kinda when it happened. The wings that have not produced for us like i would like them to are Rafalski, and Filppula. I would add Franzen to that list but i can't cause hes been out with a injury. . I also wish that they would hurry up and try to sign some guy named Forsberg before December ends, and trade for some guy like Jagr, Fedorov, etc... so we can run away with the NHL competiion again. BUT the MVP of this team right now and for the next 10 years or so is Zetterberg. Hands down. Edited December 1, 2007 by Salviaman
BeeRYCE 2 Report post Posted December 1, 2007 I think it's pretty safe to say we can give the MVP title to Zetterberg. The fact that he has only had 1 assist in the past 2 games means that he's "slumping", and that's pretty impressive.

interminded 1 Report post Posted December 1, 2007 I'm not impressed by Ozzie in the sense that he's playing well. I know he's a good goaltender and I know what he's capable of. However, I am impressed by the fact he has raised it's level to a level which is not within the reach of Dominik Hasek right now. Surely Dom is not making it difficult right now, because he's kinda in a dark place himself right now, but Ozzie is being very consistently good. The title MVP is, IMO, a tie between Ozzie and Zetterberg. The man brings an offensive spark, every night. Making goals and assisting on others. We should be glad to have him within our organisation !
SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted December 1, 2007 In this season so far, not taking any past career results/name popularity into effect, in this order... 1. Osgood 2. Zetterberg 3. Lidstrom
Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted December 1, 2007 (edited) < The avatar, says it all really. In less than 12 minutes per game he's a threat every night and we seem to have scoring chances whenever he's on the ice. Keep it up Huds! VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted December 1, 2007 MVP for the whole season has to go to Lidstrom, Zetterberg, Datsyuk, or Osgood. Not necessarily in that order. Other strong players that the Wings can't do without right now: Cleary, Holmstrom, Hudler, Chelios, Rafalski.
Offsides 21 Report post Posted December 1, 2007 I am pleasantly surprised that Ozzie has gotten playing time, but I know the capacity he can play at. I have been most impressed with Zetterberg. I wasn't expecting him to be on the top in sccoring, or to be the force that he's been. Hudler...could do more with more minutes. And it makes me mad! OsGOD 3 Report post Posted December 1, 2007 (edited) ^^ oh f*** yeah i love the avatar... I would have to say Sir Dallas because gosh darnit I missed him and i love seeing him back in the red! Yeah i think i am impressed with Babs for actually giving Ozzie playing time ... Finally after posting pretty impressive numbers with such little ice time in the past. Kudos to babcock for realizing what a great goalie you had stuffed away in your backup role! Edited December 1, 2007 by OsGOD
irishtemper14+25 11 Report post Posted December 1, 2007 not just the fact hudler got right back from being leveled by phaenuf, but he was hitting phaenuf after the whistles everytime they were near eachother...i even saw what looked like a chelios facewash from the lil chech but the wing who has impressed me the most is ozzie....z is doing great but he wasnt underrated before the season like ozzie was, and oz stepped it up big for a terrible playing hasek

Vincanni 1 Report post Posted December 1, 2007 Biggest surprise/improvement from last year: Osgood MVP so far: Very close between Lidstrom and Zetterberg with Hank getting the slight edge. On his way up: Datsyuk, really starting to step it up lately, getting his scoring touch back and seems to net a great takeaway and make something out of nothing every couple shifts. Dano33 41 Report post Posted December 1, 2007 Hasek, hands down deserves MVP. If not for him sucking so bad, we might not have figured out Osgood is still a top teir goalie in the league.

zata40 3 Report post Posted December 1, 2007 So far this year i'm impresed with Zata, Ozzie, and hudler. Zata - I didnt expect him to be leading the NHL for such a long time, and even now still be one of the top Ozzie - For having one of his best starts ever! 12-1-1!! Hudler - foe stepping up were others haven't
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted December 1, 2007 I've got to go with Osgood. He's playing better than I've ever seen him play. I expected the guys that are playing well to play well, and I've also been disappointed with a few of the players I thought we'd get more production from. HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted December 2, 2007 Can't say im impressed with Ozzie because I've always thought of him as a great goaltender. But with that being said, I am impressed that he's 13-1-1. Most impressed with Hank this year.
