I'm actually going to be able to catch this game. I haven't been able to see many games because I am usually working 2-10pm, so I'll be getting off tonight and watching the game!

No predictions for me. Just hoping they come out of the gates flying and get the W!

Let's go Wings!!!

Wings win 4-2 should be a good game,

Pavel is going to score tonight I can feel it. along with Cleary and Lidstrom.

lets take this game Wings and carry the momentum over to tommorow's game so we can thump the Duhh-kks.

The Red Wings got this one locked up. Look at how huge the Red Wings players are and how tiny the Kings players are. LA doesn't stand a chance.

Now if we lose, we know who to blame. Someone got too confident. :P :battle:

Hah! Detroit was only so big because I just used the photos on the roster page on redwings.nhl.com - same for LA... I guess L.A. just doesn't like their guys as much as we do! :P And thanks for the updates on Hank and Sammy, I've edited the main post ^.^

I'm keeping my fingers crossed we keep puttin' the hurt on LA like we have been so far this season. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Cleary is gonna score again tonight. He's on fire.

Zetterberg officially out vs. LA

Posted by George James Malik January 22, 2008 13:31PM

The Red Wings' website is reporting that Henrik Zetterberg will miss tonight's tilt vs. the LA Kings:

January 22, DetroitRedWings.com: According to Ken Kal, the Wings' radio play-by-play man, Henrik Zetterberg will miss tonight's game against the Kings due to recurring back spasms. His condition will be re-evaluated sometime tomorrow. Zetterberg currently leads the team in scoring with 61 points.

Henrik Zetterberg said today that he will not play the next two games and has withdrawn from Sunday's All-Star Game because of his sore lower back. Zetterberg also pulled out of the All-Star Game last year due to tendinitis in his wrist. He said he's going to rest during the break and hopes to return to the lineup next week.

"I'm disappointed, especially this year after I was voted in (as a starter) by the fans,'' Zetterberg said. "We decided it's best not to go and get this squared away and be healthy for the rest of the year.''

He said his back didn't improve from the day before but that it's not as serious as the flare-up from last month, which forced him to sit out five games. He also said the issue is with his muscle, not a disc. Last year he missed the last 19 games of the season with an inflamed disc.

"I'm still positive,'' Zetterberg said. "It's not that I'm really worried that it's going to go as it did last year but you never know.''

Dallas Drake (sore knee) will also miss the next two games as the team has opted to give him more time to heal. Matt Ellis will be inserted into the lineup.

Oh please oh please let this be the last we hear of Zetterberg's back. :(

I still clearly remember a Stuart cross-check to Zetterberg's back, I think the first day he returned. :ranting:

I tend to think it won't be the last we hear of Z's back spasms, unfortunately. Better now than April, I suppose.

As for Stuart -- if it wasn't him, some other rube would have found an opportunity to knock out of action the Wings' best player (arguably) on a given evening. It's part of some players' game to target weaknesses in other players -- knees, backs, whatever part is vulnerable.

Hope everyone else can survive this trip unscathed, and that the ones with little boo-boos can rest up during the break for ASG.
