zata40 3 Report post Posted January 29, 2008 http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=228402&hubname= and it continues.... Emery is being very selfish. He get paid 3-million a year, he should at least put some effort into trying to make it on time. I wouldn't be surprised if they traded him, he's almost asking for it. BeeRYCE 2 Report post Posted January 29, 2008 Honestly, why is the media all over this. Ray Emery showed up late for practice... OH NO, TRAVESTY. It's irresponsible on his behalf, but it's no big deal. He might as well set up a dog fighting ring, or sucker punch a player from behind breaking his neck. BeeRYCE 2 Report post Posted January 29, 2008 I can hear Emery now - "Its practice man...we talkin' bout practice" Well it's true. I mean, we ain't talkin' bout the game, we talkin' bout practice... Practice... Not the game... Practice.

Mason 38 Report post Posted January 29, 2008 Are you making fun of his accent? I'm reporting you two. You ought to be ashamed of yourselves... Disgusting. And to think, you call yourselves human beings. I just threw up on my keyboard. What were you thinking? I mean, seriously. What the hell? Why are you so ignorant? You make me sick. Wow... If you think you're just being funny, you're trippin'...

Uncle Danny 155 Report post Posted January 29, 2008 Oh, and back on topic... if Emery is trying to get traded, he's not being very smart about it. His stock drops every single time his name appears in one of these threads
maltbyrocks18 0 Report post Posted January 29, 2008 Emery needs to knock it off if he wants to stay in the league for a while, this isnt basketball or football where you can basicaly say or do what you want and as long as your play is good teams want you. And IMO he isnt that good, so he better shape up. oh and mason i hope so much you were being sarcastic.. if not... well i just dont know... god help you. puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted January 29, 2008 (edited) Why should we care? Emery doesn't play for Detroit and he never will (I hope). He's apparently not all that serious about a career that so many would do anything to have, but few will get a chance at. Perhaps Murray will send him down to the AHL, where Ray-Ray can learn something about work ethic from the Bingo Sens goalies. Sevumar 0 Report post Posted January 29, 2008 If this was the worst thing Emery's ever done, I can understand people objecting when someone makes a big deal about it, but this guy has prima donna written all over him. From his bouts of temper to his lack of professionalism, I'm surprised people are defending him. There are posters here who will take every opportunity to declare their disdain for Manny Legace, and he was never as bad as Emery.
wingsrock34 0 Report post Posted January 29, 2008 So freaking pathetic, just typical hip hop attitude, Emery, Vick, Kilpatrick. Blame everyone else or something else for you being a piece of s***. Oh I did not know where to practice even though everyone else on my team did. Some people just don't deserve to play in the NHL and he's one of them.

Some people just don't deserve to play in the NHL and he's one of them. okay, I've been holding off until now in the thread, but Kilpatrick?? As in Kwame? wtf? So Emery has a bad attitude (he does) and it's typical hip hop attitude? And now he has something in common with a guy who tortures dogs? What about the other players in the league with a bad attitude or personal problems? Lang had a questionable work ethic. Does that make him hip hop? McCarty smokes weed and has gambling problems. Does that make him hip hop? Hmmm... Emery is a hockey goalie, Vick is a football QB, and Kwame is a politician (unless you were referring to the linebacker for the Arizona Wildcats) what could it be that they all have in common that you somehow lump them together? Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted January 29, 2008 I can hear Emery now - "Its practice man...we talkin' bout practice" Their personalities are pretty similar, come to think of it. I think that little speech by Iverson made Best Damn's Top 10 for sports blowups, or something in that mix. I'd have to watch the particular special again to remember what the catagory was. I chose to lump them all together because they all have the same attitude of "hey it's not my fault it's someone elses." It's called personal responsibility and none of them have it. I would like to see you prove me wrong and show me how those 3 have personal responsibility. " I thought practice was at another rink" "I did not know what was going on at my own house, even though I funded the opperation." and i guess Kwame's big head forgot where he stuck his lil head and decided to cost then city $9M, Them blame the Free Press for uncovering the text's and taking it public, instead of taking personal responsibility for his actions. Also I'm not the only one who's said that about Emery's attitude I think Don Cherry did and while I normally would not include Don Cherry's opinion on minorites (Natives in Canada, and the French) he said that while being one of Emery's bigger public supporters. While I'm still on the hip hop part of my response Kwame was dubbed the first him hop mayor so I think it's fair to say he has a hip hop attitude. While I will say the Vick comment may have been harsh but I'll stand by it. McCarty took the personal responsibility for his problems. If he did not, to answer your question I would call him white trash(drugs,no job, no money, sounded like a bad father in the freep article until recently) so no I would not classify him with the previously mentioned people, also what you chose to imply was not lost on me. It's not about proving that those three don't have that attitude. It's that you chose those three in particular while excluding many others, even though a lot of people have that attitude. Todd "I didn't mean to hurt him" Bertuzzi comes to mind. You lumped them together because you think they all have that attitude and they're all black. You can call it typical "hip hop" attitude, but the word you're looking for is typical n*gger.

Ok, I'll bite. Your request for personal accountability is well taken, but your approach to the argument has me seriously scratching my head. Kwame, Vick and Emery = hip hop attitude for not taking responsibility for their actions (and, not that I'd defend the piece of trash, but Vick did, in his letter to the judge). Kwame, Vick and Emery also all = african american Mac = potential white trash, but not white trash since he took responsibility for his actions I question your reasons for grouping these folks the way you did. Latent racist much?

Did anyone else do that like he did? And a lawyer written press release does not count. You know what if thats how you want to interpert my point thats fine. I know thats not what I said or meant.
