Not a great game by Datsyuk (minus the goal) or Lidstrom, but I guess he's allowed to have a bad game once in a while plus it's hard to play great when the players around you are not playing well. I dono what is up with our D, but they need to snap out of it, pronto! I'm just glad we put a few points on the board. That big old 0 in the 1st made me cringeeeee! Because Larry Murphy is a fortune teller right? He knows more than the wings doctors. They said 6-8 weeks. The playoffs start in 6 or 7. That puts him at about the 2nd round. shannyfan1414 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2008 What a craptaculer game that was. Nothing like going down 3 - 0 in the first period and then not having much life after that. One good thing came from this game, Howard played very well in my eyes. I thought that this was the best that he has played as a Red Wing. Do they look at the standing too much and thinking 'man we are just too damn good and too smart, we gonna put on a show and they will never even touch the puck' and we pass the puck way too friggin much! I am watching Wings power play and I know where the pucks will go next most of the time! other teams are just covering our players and voila puck comes to them automatically. maybe part of it is that other team has figured out our system a bit but we rely on it way too much time. You are NHL players! Fight through and drive to the friggin net! I will say this again again and again, we can have all the talents in the world but if we dont work hard we have a very good chance of losing out in first round. Usually it is someone who wants more win in the end. qft. especially: "maybe part of it is that other team has figured out our system a bit but we rely on it way too much time" the wings don't do well trying to adjust. when our system works we can seem unbeatable, but when teams effectively counter us we look powerless and we never seem to do anything to adjust other than babs throwing out some crazy line combos. that aside, if the wings continue to refuse to play a full 60, we'll see more of the same. this team really needs to address their work ethic and at least act like they care out there.
