*sighs* Start prediciting when the Tigers will get their first win. Tuesday, Wednesday? This team needs a win bad

If the Tigers play like this, no chance they win a game in Boston.

* This is sickening, getting beat 13-2 now. Not only are the Tigers losing, they are being embarrassed. I just don't see mental focus from any player not named Inge. Having talent and a 138 million dollar payroll isn't good enough to just show up and win games.

Well so much for getting excited about the start of baseball season. <_< So many problems where to start? For one, where the he$$ are Rodney and Zumaya? Didn't go to the post-season and had the whole winter off, and still can't play? I guess that's why I'm a hockey fan at heart - those guys will play through discomfort to help out their team. Hope it gets better, but guess after fizzling out last season we should have seen this coming. :(

I think thats a very unfair statement when it comes to pitchers. Theres a big difference between a hockey player gutting out some pain to play and a pitcher with a messed up shoulder or elbow putting his entire career on the line with every throw. Not to mention, in most cases the guy cant even throw at all anyway. Pitchers with injured arms is far more serious business than what hockey players play through. Zumaya is said to be back by August at the earliest, but imo he wont be effective whatsoever even if he does return,... and he wont be for a LONG while...if he ever is again. His days of throwing 100 are done.

My friend said they were chanting "Let's Go Red Wings" at the end of the game last night. I didn't watch long to find out.

I heard it, but to me it just sounding like a small group that happened to be right by the broadcast booth. You know how every once in a while you can hear one drunk guy screaming something loud and clear? Well thats what it was like.

Does anyone know if the Tigs play at Wrigley this season? I was looking at the schedule, and couldn't find it. I want to go there for a game sometime, and would love to watch the Tigers.

nope...tigers dont play the cubs this year.

Nice one . Yea I turned it off when Chicago went ahead 3-1. That's how much faith I had in the Tigers coming back. That could be a good sign the "Let's Go Red Wings" chant started up at Comerica. There's that famous story before the 2001-02 season when the "Let's Go Red Wings" chant got going at Ford Field, while the Lions were smelling up the joint. And we all know what happened in 2001-02....

See this is why I love being a Detroit fan. If one team stinks, just pay attention to one of the other ones. The Tigers are coming to Toronto in a couple weeks. I was thinking of going, but not anymore. Unless the Tigers pull off an 8 game winning streak or something.

If the Tigers continue to suck, all the more reason to follow the Wings and Pistons in the playoffs.

Edit: I can just ship easy, but atleast it's to another Detroit team and sport. It's not like I jump over to the Indians, White Sox, Yankees, or something stupid like that.

I still stand by my thoughts that, with the offense (and the payroll) this team has, they will turn it around.

...and they damn well better, because there is no excuse for this. Plus, I plan on going to some games later this month, so they better start winning. ;)

Also, for anyone who's wondering, I also did hear the "Let's Go Red Wings" chants during the Chicago game. They weren't very loud, but they were there.

I'm starting to feel bad for all those people who shelled out money for Season Tickets this year, and the team starts out like this.

Yea I agree, the offense and starting pitching is to good not to be contending for a playoff spot this year. This is a team that could rip off about 10 wins in a row once everyone gets going.

I would have to disagree with that statement. A puck to the eye socket or jaw is far worse - as are head injuries and concussions and blown knees. I'm not saying these guys should go out there and play with bad elbows or whatever is ailing them - part of this is just plain bad luck for the Tigers - this will be the second season Zumaya is basically out for the year. And as you mentioned - his glory days are probably done. Rodney is just plain bad luck too. Even when hockey players tear their ACL's - we're talking 4-6 months out, not 2 years. Anyhow, at 0-7 I doubt there will be any reason to rush anyone back from injuries later in the year, but we can somehow hope they turn it around and at least make it interesting....

I am stunned. This no longer classifies as just a fluke start. The Tigers can't hit, field, pitch, or even run the bases. Losing is one thing, but not even showing up is another. I realize it is still early in the season, but 0-7 is unacceptable. The American League is too competitive, and every game is digging a bigger hole that the Tigers may not be able to climb out from.

I am partially disgusted, but a part of me doesn't even believe this whole 0-7 mess is even real. Somebody please hit the ball soon...

I really hope that tonight is the night that the bats finally wake up. Tigers face Lester tonight, a beatable pitcher when you consider Wakefield pitches tomorrow. They got Bonderman on the hill which should give the pitching edge to Detroit but nothing is taken for granted obviously this year. Plus I will be watching the game tonight which so far I havent watched many games this year. My message to the Tigers tonight is this:

Please..just win a game. I don't care if this team stinks all year and loses 100 games, at least lets get our name outta the national media with this winless streak. I am begging for a W tonight.
