Theres no reason he shouldnt be called up for the next game. Even if hes nowhere near NHL level, hed fit right in with the way we are playing..

i agree.

i also think im the only one who thinks that a big fight might change the momentum up

These scores from the last week or so say it all:

Chicago 7, Columbus 2 / Columbus 4, Detroit 0 (after 2nd)

Chicago 6, Nashville 1 / Nashville 4, Detroit 2

I really don't know where's the effort gone.

I know it'll magically come back (these team sports are funny that way),but I haven't seen the Red Wings play this poorly since I don't know how long ago.

They should try to play with a lot pride everytime they get to wear the Wings jersey.

I'm just not seeing the Fire On Ice now.

Okay, so this is THE worst Wings game I have seen in recent memory. They have ZERO jump and are just getting beat in every aspect.

The D looks terrible, slightly better in the second but still terrible. Zetterberg has been sub-par, and does anyone else notice that Holmstrom has been invisible of late (except for that obvious Anaheim goal).

No, this game wasn't Ozzie's fault, he certainly could have been better, but I think they just took him out to get him out of the line of fire. O well.

Does anyone here agree with me that I do not want to see Detroit score tonite at all unless they plan on scoring 5 or more? If they can get handily shutout in their own building by a division rival may it can bust them out of this horrible slump.

PS. I am watching the game on TSN and during the first intermission they were talking about the slump and Mike Milbury (for the record, the guy who signed Alexei Yashin to that ridiculous contract in Long Island) stated that "this is not the right time" for Detroit to be going into this kind of slump.

This made me think. Obviously, its never "the right time" for a team to slump, but if their ever is a right time, this is it. A) Given where we are in the standings, we have a bit of lee-way. B) There is still plenty of time before the playoffs to work through this s***. C) About a week and a half away from the deadline, it is a pretty decent time to highlight -- in an incredibly emphatic way -- to Holland the weaknesses that this team still has.

Thus, Milbury is a ******.

Sure our d sucks but come on, i've seen goalies stop everything when their d screws them over. I've witnessed it in more than one game. Other goalies beat us no matter what nifty plays we come up with when their d is no where to be found. How come no one is blamming the goalie here? It's everybody's fault! When yer d is sucking that means YOUR GOALIE HAS TO STEP UP to bail you out!!!!!!!!!!

Where does it state that I'm bashing ozzie?

For the record, the Western Conference is by NO MEANS sewn up. We still have a comfortable 12 point lead, but Dallas is playing incredibly well and they get a shot at us on Sunday. A couple more weeks of each team playing the way they have been and we have an interesting race.

Dammit you're right. Osgood should have STEPPED IT UP, so the score could be 2-0 instead of 4-0.

The best any goalie in the world can do is get a tie by themselves. Without any goal support it's moot point right now whether it's 4-0, 1-0 or 10-0 since we're sitting on the 0.

There's a time and a place for blaming the goalie but this isn't really it.

Also I've seen all the best goalies get hung out to dry just as much as they make the miracle stop. It's not about shots as goaltender as much as it is about quality scoring chances and the higher the QSC the more likely your tender is going to get beat at some point. That's why sometimes it's unfair to see the X number of goals on x number of shots because if 4 goals were scored on 5 shots but all five of them were 2 on 0's it's not really indicative the goaltenders play.

Right now the whole team is in a funk and that of course trickles down to the goaltending as I imagine Ozzie like the rest is trying too hard right now and not just playing.

Agreed, Wings HAVE to pick it back up. Let's see them do something in the third.....
