According to ESPN's insider Hockey rumors Patrick Marleau, Martin Havlat and Tomas Kaberle are added to the list of players that their teams might be willing to move.

I, personally, am a huge fan of Havlats despite his injuries. When he is healthy he makes everyone around him better, which could help out guys like Flip or Hudler, assuming either or maybe one wouldn't be included in the deal to get him.

As for Marleau and Kaberle, they are both proven veterans that any team should take a look at. What do you guys think?

kaberle's nice, but it'll take a lot and for the price i'd rather have more size/physical play ...

if we could sign havlat to a contract where we only have to pay for games he actually plays in i'd take him, otherwise no thanks, too risky ...

i haven't seen much of marleau, but what i have seen hasn't impressed me, he's having a bad year, so a change of scenery might light a fire under him, but what would it take to get him? san jose is in the hunt, so i can't imagine they would let him go prospects and picks, i would think they'd want a top line forward in return ... i could see marleau and players going in a package for hossa (or sundin) if sj knew they could sign him long-term ...

Marleau is a spent force. Havlat's iron man streak is about 3 games. Kaberle is a good defenseman, but I doubt the Wings have what it takes to give up enough to get him (if the Leafs even want to give him up).

In short, pass on the first two. The third option, Kaberle, would be great, but I don't see it happening.

I'd take Marleau for Hudler, Sammy, and a pick - that guy is too talented for the kind of season he is having, he needs out of San Jose.

is that really what this team/ fans need?

another disappearing act in the playoffs? cause thats exactly what he did when we played them.

From Bob Mckenzie today:

If Cliff Fletcher has said it once, he's said it 100 times.

The interim general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs duly notes that many of the players he might like to trade before the Feb. 26 deadline have no-trade or no-movement clauses and they ultimately control their own fate, not him.

And truer words have never been spoken where it concerns Maple Leaf defenceman Tomas Kaberle.

Amid reports that the Philadelphia Flyers and other teams are interested in Kaberle - sources say the Leafs are getting as much if not more action on Kaberle as captain Mats Sundin - the agent for Kaberle says his client isn't prepared to waive his no-trade clause. Not now. Not next week at the trade deadline either.

''Tomas Kaberle is not going anywhere,'' agent Rick Curran told TSN. ''He signed a contract to be a Toronto Maple Leaf and while he's disappointed with the way things have turned out this season in Toronto, he has no intention of leaving. He's fully committed to the Maple Leafs. That's why he signed a long-term contract (three more seasons after this one at $4.25 million per season) and that's why he's not waiving his no-trade clause.

''I don't know how much clearer I can be on this. I talked to Tomas two weeks ago and he told me he's not going to waive his no-trade. I talked to Tomas two days days ago and he said then he hasn't changed his mind. I talked to him this morning and it's still the same thing - he's not moving. He likes Toronto, he likes the Maple Leafs and he wants to be a part of the team getting better. Players have no-trade clauses for a reason and Tomas doesn't want to be traded. It's really that simple. It's just not happening.''

Curran added that the Maple Leafs have been made well aware of Kaberle's desire to remain in Toronto.

And yet Kaberle continues to be the most sought-after Leaf, along with team captain Mats Sundin.

Kaberle, an elite puck-moving defenceman and power play specialist, is a bargain at $4.25 million per year.

GMR FTW

It's amazing to see all the scenarios with which Sammy's been traded already on LGW. I wish I had started keeping a count of all the posters' suggestions, just to see how many there are. There has to be literally thousands of trade proposals that we've already discussed here, some of which border on the outlandish. :D
