Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted February 27, 2008 (edited) This streak is ridiculous. And it all started with blowing that lead against the Kings. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it Stuart who gave the Kings the lead in that game? Maybe it was a "reverse" of what's going on. Just a thought. Lazerbeam 13 Report post Posted February 27, 2008 Damn whoever it was who put themselves ahead of the team by telling Holland to NOT get Fedorov! Kizmit is a son-of-a-b*tch! To whoever cried to momma about Fedorov, you and your team deserves everything you get. Way to lose the last 9 out 10! Say bye bye to that #1 and #2 seed this season! Start booking your tee times! Sure Fedorov may not have made a difference tonight because we actually got some scoring, but like I said Kizmit is a powerful force and just because there was one or two individuals (Babcock) who put themselves ahead of the TEAM, you have doomed your club! Enjoy another 42 years without the Cup!!!! (at least) ...yes Crymson, my card is still turned in... ...Holland sucks and so does his staff... ..oh wait McCarty is the Messiah, all is good... What people on here dont know is that Columbus wanted Filpulla for Fedorov--That would have been a terrible trade! This was reported many times on serius sat. radio over the last week on the hockey channel talk.
Z and D for the C 712 Report post Posted February 27, 2008 (edited) This might come off this way, but I have no problem with who was in goal and this is not to start a goalie war. Osgood is really playing awesome, up to where he was in the beginning of the seaons and I'm really really really happy to see that (really). I'm not saying Dom should have been in net, I'm not saying howard should have been in net, I'm not saying Osgood should have been in net, I'm not saying chris chelios should have been in net. I love both of our goalies. This loss was in no way Ozzies fault. He played great. None of the goals he let in were his fault. Dom may not have done a better job. He may not have done a worse job. I do not care who was in net today. Okay I think that's enough. Now to what I want to say: What's the point of Dom even dressing this game if he's not going to play? Why not just rest him a bit more and put in Howard as the backup. Just kind of an odd move I think. Just wanted to mention that. Doggy 130 Report post Posted February 27, 2008 (edited) The response to this should be interesting: I've always supported Ozzie as much as I can (and I'm definitely not blaming him for the loss) but he is as soft as butter. Seriously. He's not a bad goalie but he just doesn't have the eye of the tiger. Guys like Hasek, Brodeur, Roy, etc. - they get pissed about losses and bad goals and they wipe teams like dirty asses because of it. This is why Hasek starts in the playoffs and Ozzie watches. kherty 3 Report post Posted February 27, 2008 As far as I'm concerned, every game here on out is a "playoff" game for our team...we've given up enough of the point lead for me to feel comfortable!

Wing-in-avs-town 123 Report post Posted February 27, 2008 After watching the 1st two periods, getting a pt. tonight is a big step. The wings showed a spark that we haven't seen lately. I think I'm more sick of the fact that I gotta see Forsberg / Foote here in Colorado again.

Unless they meet in the 1st round of the playoffs or something. then things suddenly get interesting again. especially after the injury to Nick, the media will eat it up, and stir the pot a little. Agreed. I am pulling for the Avs to be the 8th spot (if we're still 1) because it could easily spark the rivalry. The last game where we beat them 4-0 had Lids getting hurt, Babs yelling Granato, and just a lot more excitement physically. We play them in the play them in the playoffs and who knows?. I think it will be good for hockey too if it happens. IDK though, being from Colorado, Wings games are always intense to me. SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted February 27, 2008 Baby steps people, baby steps. All things considering lately with a pretty awful slump and injuries, you take a point when you can get it. 1 point tonight is 1 point more than the Wings have earned in a lot of games lately. The Wings *knock on wood* are slowly mending up, Stuart will add more defensive depth to push Lilja and Lebda and hopefully get them to reduce their recent goof ups, and this team showed plenty of urgency in the 3rd and finally started to get some breaks not hitting posts, etc. Hopefully tonight is the start of snapping out of their funk. hoogs 8 Report post Posted February 27, 2008 I cant beleive how bad Sammy is.............thats all I have to say. Oh and Lilja is getting old fast, giving pucks away left and right, NEVER stopping the pass like he is supposed to on a 2 on 1, AND taking bad penalties
Yemack 1 Report post Posted February 27, 2008 Meech played best game of this season. I am not totally satisfied with him yet but he was our best D man tonight. Few of our players are starting to gear up towards to playoff so I thought it was nice to see but I think we have ways to go before we get same fire that driven our team begining of the season. Yzerfan1999 81 Report post Posted February 27, 2008 Hey guys, I was at the game tonight. Fun to watch actually, good to see the boys come from behind and take the lead - sad they couldn't finish it off. But yeah, I got my moneys worth tonight with the OT and SO. The guys from GR played well IMO, I was especially impressed with Meech and Ericsson, and Zetterberg (despite not getting any PTS) and Pavel all looked pretty good tonight. They were giving the Oiler fans fits. This game might have been another loss, but its a step in the right direction - the new young D are really starting to look a lot better. Gene Principe interviewed Yzerman during the break, and Steve made it clear that the Wings are not panicking, in fact they are using this as a good opportunity to see some of these young guys, and they are pretty excited about it. Yzerman kind of had a calming effect in that sense. Lidstrom, Rafalski, Chelios, Kronwall, and Cleary will be the best post-tradeline aquisitions ever. Lets not freak out! shadow47 1 Report post Posted February 27, 2008 Ozzie: Amazing as always. Really the only accurate word here is 'as'. 3ga, sub .900 sp, a save/a post/a ga in the shootout, and an overtime loss. Dear lord, Luongo-esque. He made some great saves but the performance as a whole was hardly anything special, but by all means lets exaggerate for no reason at all. Mudvayneowns91 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2008 I just want to say probably any goalie would allow 3+ goals with the D we have right now. The D left Ozzie high and dry on several occasions and Ozzie made several great saves. If Lilypad doesn't get the penalty hat trick in the 3rd, Ozzie probably ends up with the win. Plus, I think letting 1/4 shots in a shootout is going to give a great shot to win. I don't want to ignite a goalie war, but please give Ozzie some credit
