calfan 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2008 Matt - my only problem is that from one time to the next the site never remembers me. It's like the Adam Sandler movie, 50 First Dates. I access the site and it goes "who are u?"
edicius 3,269 Report post Posted February 27, 2008 Worked pretty well for me. In fact, I experienced minimal lag from the external components yesterday, the main sources of my usual lag on here. Considering how busy the site was yesterday, I think it held up fantastically.

dallas27 7 Report post Posted February 27, 2008 Given the amount of people we had on here I thought the site performed very well. With so many people you should expect for it to be a little slower than usual. Patience is a virtue.
esteef 2,679 Report post Posted February 27, 2008 It had its ups and downs. Pretty decent for the most part, I still think it's kinda hanging every now and then.

TeeMan 52 Report post Posted February 27, 2008 Matt this is a sweet site. There was 717 guests 678 members and like 4 AM's. There was never any slow time on the server. All I can say is I was trying to get on to my Home site. Which we don't know how many posters are on and it took three hours just to login. LETSGOWINGS rocks. Yemack 1 Report post Posted February 27, 2008 maybe little laggier than usual, and right after 3 there was a time I couldn't connect to the site However, it just a feat in itself this site didn't blow up as a lot of us posted random 'HOSSA' chant and refreshed threads every 5 seconds
sinbin 3 Report post Posted February 27, 2008 Matt....we are still living to talk about it! Congrats! It held up well.....I hit a few snags as well! Overall, A for reliability!

TheWestWing 71 Report post Posted February 27, 2008 (edited) Matt, I was only on till about 8AM PST when I glued myself in front of the TV and was switching b/t TSN, Sporstnet and The Score (and The Score really sucked. Sportsnet wasn't terrible but turned into a luvfest when Doug MacLean was weeping with Foote. TSN was the best as always - half the fun is watching Drager and BooB MaC frantically scrolling thru their Crackberrys! And Ferguson was a hoot - he and Milbury were talking about the deadline trade they did when Ozzie went to STL - Ferg wanted Burke from PHX but they wanted Jackman and that's how Oz ended up in STL). For me, the site was painfully slow during the early hours and at times pages would not load (hey, at least you didn't route thru the Paki ANS ala YouTube!). Again, I wasn't around during the crunch. I realize you can only do so much in anticipation of an onslaught and you obviously had your hands tied on this one. Vladiator 116 Report post Posted February 28, 2008 The site was a little slow around the last hour of the trade deadline but it didn't puke on me like TSN did.
mannysBETTER3434 1 Report post Posted February 28, 2008 I was on during the deadline off and on from 2 to probably 5, and had zero problems the whole time. The speed of the site, and everything else worked perfect.
redmathew 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2008 One thing i have noticed, is when i click on a forum from the main page, it directs me to the last comment on that topic(which is annoying) but if i click a topic on the general forum section, it goes to the first post. This has been happening since the move over to the new look.
HkyTwn 5 Report post Posted February 28, 2008 Considering there were over 1000 people on here at one time, it performed great I think. I wouldn't have actually noticed that many people were on if I hadn't had looked. There was nothing slow about it at all from my end.
jim3033 1 Report post Posted February 28, 2008 (edited) I didn't really have any troubles. When I ran the TSN video feed and used this site at the same time it was slow and said the server was too busy at one point (11:00AM). When I switched to the audio feed it ran fine (around 2:00-3:00PM). Edited February 28, 2008 by jim3033
Barrie 900 Report post Posted February 28, 2008 Hey Matt, just my 2 cents. I found the site was slow on deadline day, but I understood why. Unless it's the playoffs, I'm sure trade deadline day has the most traffic, hense the slow down. I was able to read and post what I wanted to, so it was fine. What I didn't like was all the freaking out and the when people didn't get the players they wanted, but you have no control over how we all react to stuff anyway, haha. So all in all, I was fine with how the site was working.
Ozzie30 170 Report post Posted February 28, 2008 site performed well, cosidering. The deadline topic refreshed great. I got the "cannot find" page a couple times when attempting to post.
SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted February 29, 2008 Matt, right now I am having site troubles. Sometimes I am getting the error/text quoted after I make a post or try to go to a link in the forum. My posts that I have made though go in like normal. I have to hit the Internet Browser refresh button to get the forums to come back up. There is no consistency in how many times I have to refresh. Sometimes just once or twice, sometimes roughly 8-10 times. esteef 2,679 Report post Posted February 29, 2008 I've killed the news feeds for the time being (until I can find an adequate way to cache the feeds). Maybe that's what was making the site slow and unresponsive sometimes because it's noticeably better now. Plus, the other day my machine said a script was causing the page/site to load/run slowly, 'Would you like to cancel running the script on this page?' I said yes and it worked a little better until yesterday when I had intermittent problems bringing the site up. Hope this helps you figure it out if you haven't already. Cheers! esteef
Saran 1 Report post Posted February 29, 2008 whenever i open a thread with multiple pages it seems to start me off on a random page, not the first page or the last. for example i opened up the GDT and i started at page 4, then i closed it and opened the thread again and i started at the last page. does this happen to anyone else? anyone?
Elshupacabra 0 Report post Posted February 29, 2008 (edited) anyone? That happens because when you click on the topic link, it will go to the first unread post. So if you enter a topic for the first time that already has two pages, the site will assume that you read all the posts that were made up until you entered. So when you click the link again it will start you off at the first post that was made after the last time you were in there.
