Yay! The Wings actually won a game!

I'm liking the Brad Stuart trade more and more each day. He's played great in his first two games here. I really hope the Wings can convince him to re-sign in the offseason, since he brings great, all around ability for a defenseman.

Hasek played great... nice to see him come back into form. We really need him for the playoffs, so it's nice to see him coming around.

Good game by the Wings. Hopefully it's a sign of good things to come. :)

Were Franzen to play with more intensity and effort, he'd be a big force on the ice.

So, my DVR won't let me watch my recording of the game. I was able to watch the first 10 minutes of gameplay and then, nothing. (Comcast's DVR is a POS) It sounds like I missed a hell of a game. I can't wait to see the video. I wish I could see the entire game tonight.

WOW! I'm so happy, I'm teary-eyed.

Great game! Special kudos to Dom, Kronner, Malts, Drake, Killya, and congrats to Sammy on assist #25. Who knew he passed that many times this season?

We're back, and it feels GOOD!

I am so excited that we won the game, it was an all around great team effort. I hope that the momentum from the win will carry us through all of the games in March.

Over all I was pleased with our effort tonight!! Still too many turnovers that are leading odd man rushes! I still cannot believe that the 2 refs did not blow the whistle during that scrum in front of the penalty box, all I could think is here we f@#$ing go again!!

Brad Stuart has been a hell of a pick up!! I love how he joins the play, but he doesn't get h caught out of position! Franzen was AWESOME tonight, as well as Kronwall!! I LOVED seeing Maltby playing the way he did tonight, he totally got Buffalo off their game.

I just knew that whe our first goal went off the Sabre skate, this game was ours!!

NOW LETS BEAT ST LOUIS!!! We are 7-9-2 against our division!! Lets not get too excited just yet!!

I don't know why but I'm just not that fired up tonight.

My only concern at this point is we might go on another winning streak and burnt out before the playoff starts. Pav and Z looked like they need a rest or something.

anyway good game overall.

Nooo! First day of study today, finished early, rushed home to listen to the Wings game and I see it's finished! It was an early start I take it?

Anyone care to give me a tiny recap of the game? I see Filppula scored a goal and an assist and we seriously got some secondary scoring! Maltby, Drake, wow!

so happy just to see a Wings win tonight.

this game looked much more of a team effort and people were actually forechecking and pressing the issue, very happy to see the Wings finally come away with one, despite another really strange goal against.

Tiny recap: Boo! Yay! Yay! Yay! WTF?BOO! Yay!

Not so tiny recap:

They scored early on and we all went "here we go again", but then we stepped it up, scored 3 goals, there was a scrum involving everyone except a couple of Sabres who went in and scored. We scored an inusrance goal and won.

Highlights:

Sammy got assist #25. Yes, he PASSED THE PUCK!!!

Lilja got the save of the game; great enough to get some people to actually like him.

Kronner controlled the defensive portion of the game and set the offense up nicely.

Stuart looked good again- seems to be a good pick up.

Dom was great and did something funny that I couldn't see since I had radio feed, and lousy feed at that.

Franzen looked great. Flip and Huddie showed up and played. Downie brought us energy.

Drake and Malts had their best games of the season.

I do believe tha t Dom and Kronner just needed last game to get back into the swing of things and that they are now Forces To Be Reckoned With.

Those who saw the game report that an octopus was thrown on the ice. LGW members hillariously debated the feasibility of throwing a Buffalo on the ice.

The Buffalo radio guys can not say Flip-a-lu-la to save their lives.

Great to watch the boys get it done. We really needed the win tonight, the 2 points looks good in the standings for the first time in awhile.

And I must admit that fake slap shot pass by Kronwall was just b-e-a-utiful!

Remember all those games from back in November and December when the Wings were housing the entire league? Secondary scoring, outshooting the daylights out of the opposition? Yeah, basically like that. Lillypad made the stop of the game when Hasek got caught on the wrong side of the net, stack-the-pads style. Pure "secondary scoring", the only point from Z or D was a Datsyuk assist on the insurance goal. And Kronwall kinda sorta looked like the defenseman he was drafted to be.

I still say the toughest part would be smuggling it into the arena. Cut it into pieces? PEEE-YEEWWWW. At least you can boil the smell away from an octopus.

I dunno how the Buffalo radio guys were butchering Filppula's name, but it can't be worse than the CBC guys from the Vancouver game, whose attempt at the name sounded like "Feeyil-Pyoo-Lah," as if Flip were actually born in Sept-Iles or something. I don't think Finnish names are supposed to be quite that tortured-sounding.

Secondary scoring was a big part of our slump.

Drake, Filpulla, Franzen, and Maltby.

Not saying we should stop being concerned, but this is definitely a good sign.
