Weird places you've worn the Winged Wheel.

My son and I wore ours to watch the Caps play the Canes at the Verizon Center when we were in DC for Spring Break in 2006. We rooted for the home team and had a good time. The only negative comment we heard was after the game when an imaginative fan yelled "The Red Wings suck!" as he walked past us.

The second unusual place was on pit lane over the wall at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during practice for the Indy 500 last year (I work as a photographer down there).

My 14 year old son had a funny "jersey" story at the CCHA Finals last month. We had seats on the glass and he decided to have some fun, be different, and wore this ref jersey and pants (he wanted to take his helmet too, but I said "that's enough"). It was a real hoot watching people constantly do double-takes as we walked around the JLA concourse. It was also funny when during the consolation game the refs didn't react to what we thought was a goal at our end. Some of the fans behind us called out to my son and said "Hey, you saw it! Tell them!", also after a bad call somebody told him "I'm sure you guys could do a better job out there than those guys!"

I wear my red and white proudly all over the place up here in northern Minnesota right smack dab in Wild country. Always wear my white jersey on gamedays while I'm watching. But, that's got nothing on my uncle Mike who we buried in his Yzerman jersey when he died about 6 years ago. RIP Mikey!

I am a Civil War reenactor. April is when we begin practicing for the upcoming season. We were at Fort Wayne Indiana, I showed up at the last formation (everyone lines up for parade inspection) of the day with 1860's military clothes and a Wings baseball cap on. We were given lists of duties to perform during the evening. My whole company went A.W.O.L. and went to Hooters to watch the game. When asked by the Battalion commander why we missed our assigned duties my reply was: "Hey, it's hockey. It's the playoffs. HOCKEY MATTERS." The Blues are his team. I got in trouble, but that's how it goes, I guess.

Red Wings boxers, top of Eiffel Tower, January 2005. Of course, I was wearing jeans over the boxers... I am not that crazy.

Also, at a HIFK versus Lukko playoff hockey game at Helsingin Jäähalli on March 24, 2005 in Helsinki.

I wear Wings to class every gameday.

This isn't weird or anything, but in 2002 our family vacation was scheduled for a couple days after we won the Cup...funny thng...we were driving to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (right after we beat the Canes in the finals). So as soon as we hit the North Carolina border I changed into Wings gear and that's all I wore the whole time I was in both of those states. And every time some waitress or something would be like "So where yall from?" I would answer "Detrot. We just won the Cup." And at the beach I would write GO WINGS all over the sand. I wanted everyone to know where I was from. I know it's a little immature but I was in 8th grade at the time.

It wasn't me but my mom had her Wings jersey on in Vegas and she ended up running into kid Rock and played the tables with him for a little bit.

I wear mine all the time, i have mine on at work today and i normally have to be dressed up. good thing they understand my love for the wings.

I wore my jersey in an outdoor hockey rink in the middle of a Colorado ski resort. I made sure to wear plenty of layers so I could piss off those Dive fans without wearing a jacket and covering up my jersey.

I wore a 02 Wings Cup hat in Fiji. It's not the same as a jersey, but I ended up having a long conversation with a 12 year old kid about the Lightning winning that year.

Wearing it at the United Center was definitely an experience, especially when I go to non-Wings games there.

I wore it in L.A. once and someone asked me if I was from Quebec. Had to inform them that even though I hadn't lived in Detroit for 16 years, I was pretty sure Detroit was still part of the U.S.

Man i didnt know they made those....im sorry was it the last jersey left when you got to the store or something?

They must have made at least two because I own one too. If we're talking about Ulf, not Mikael that is. Picked it up at the Joe right after they got rid of him for $30. Couldnt turn down a Wings jersey for that price regardless of the name.

I'll wear the Red and White anywhere. From the Outer Banks to the Oregon coast, the Badlands, the Grand Canyon, Florida, the Blue Ridge Mountains, New England, anywhere...

I have a very dear friend whose husband was buried in his Dino Ciccarelli jersey.

I wore a Pasha jersey to another friend's memorial service.

I wore a Red Wings shirt in Jersey and almost got lynched for it. This was right after we won the Cup in 98.

I had a Wings sweatshirt on in Buffalo and some guy came up and asked, "Why are you wearing a Red Wings shirt?" I looked at him and said, "Where I come from, this is not a problem."

I have a Wings lapel pin that I wear on my blazer when I go to anyone's funeral.

I also went to a state convention of a group my hubby belongs to and wore a Pasha jersey. That is my idea of formal attire.

I also wore Pasha's jersey to get my driver's license photo taken recently. No kidding.

Times must have changed. It seems like half the people that ask me about my jersey...think it's a Flyers jersey. <_<

As for the driver's license photo...oooh, that's a good idea! My new license pic is coming up in July.

Hey, it's the picture for the next eight years. I can live with it. Next year, my military ID comes due again, and I'll probably wear a Wings jersey for that as well.

I wore the Wheel when I lived in San Diego. No one seemed to care at all tho, in fact I don't think they knew anything about hockey.

But when I went to visit my girl in Calgary in 02, the Wings and Calgary were tops in the league at the time. I wore it to a Calgary game at Pengrowth and a lot of people gave me dirty looks. I don't think they liked it to much when I said "Go Edmonton" either.
