wow, what's going on with the pens? it seems like all their players are leaving.

I wouldn't mind having orpik, especially if Stuart doesn't re-sign

Just saw this on ESPN. Another hard-hitting; hard-working defenseman is on the market. Any possibilities here?

Methinks it partly depends on what Stuart decides to do. But either way, I am of the group opinion that says why not give them talented upstart young'ns a chance?

maybe he is an ok d-man, but i personally dislike him, to me he seems to be a little bit dumb and i think he wouldn´t fit with the wings who mostly seem to be pretty smart players. so i say no to orpik.

No professional hockey player is dumb, that's why they're professionals.

I would say yes, but for no more than 1 million a year!! He was impressive, but not 3 million impressive. I like his play, but like someone else said, we are loaded on D!! Hopefully he doesn't go to anyone else in the Central!!

i agree. i want my boy ericsson to be in the lineup and helm..and i can't wait to see abby in there

I agree, I know nobody is guaranteed a spot on the team but you would think that with the way Helm played in the playoffs that the only way he doesn't make the team is if he has a terrible training camp and plays himself off the team. We need to start the season with at least one of these young d-men on the team and then come trade deadline if we need to add a veteran guy than so be it.

Wow, I know I joked with a few Pens fans about enjoying their ONE trip to the finals, but holy crap!

...Malone, Malkin, Hossa, Orpik, Roberts, who's next? Sure they still have Crosby and Staal and Fluery, but there is a little thing called team chemistry. Looks like Pittsburgh is going to have a rough time at getting back to the Finals afterall, so my poking fun may just be proven true!

Chris Simon?

Simon wasn't dumb. the guy most likely has problems with keeping his

cool and taming his aggression, but he's not dumb.

Pronger is dumber than SImon because he actually has more skills but is

unable to keep his game on civil level and not cross the border (even

the border of Ducks standards which is way above league average).

but even he isn't a trully dumb guy.

this Philly kid who was suspended before the season even started...

now that's another story...

You think the wings will put him on the 4th. When he could be 1st line in GR? *HELM*

I agree with Big Rig, I'am excited for him and hopefully quincey to be playing with Detroit.. I think they will add a element to our D that we have been missing..Ruggidness but yet solid with moving the puck :D

I actually heard Orpik was only looking for 3.5M, as opposed to the 4-4.5M some people were projecting he'd ask, and he also wants to return to Philly.

Like it or not, 3M will actually end up being a decent price for a guy who can fill a #4 spot. That said, I personally dont think hes worth more than about 2.25. But the market dictates otherwise. Hamrlik has been great with the Habs, but it was a great year for him. Career-wise hes more or less a #3, but hes being paid 5M+.
