Need your opinions on a Wings jersey...

Ok Jon Ericsson is one of my favorite players. Even though he hasn't played much in the NHL i've watched him a lot on Griffins TV and at their games. I want to get his jersey and I really think he has a great shot of making the team this year. So, do you think he'll be here for the next few season or is he trade bait? I wonder what the front office thinks of him compared to Kindl, Meech, Quincey Brendan Smith and all the others... Also, do you think he'll keep his #52 jersey or switch the number once he makes the squad. That'd suck if I bought it and he changed to 25 or something. Let me know your opinions guys, Thanks.

He'll be a fixture on our blue line in years to come. Meech, Quincy, Lebda will all be shipped out before he is. I really doubt they'll trade him unless there is a lights out player they can get.

I would be worried about the #52 though(unless you want his rookie number to look cool), I heard he's thinking about changing it.

edit: By this picture it looks like he'll change it to 2

dunno about the 52 tbh...

the 'temporary numbers' are usually in the 40's, not the 50's...

can't see him changing to #2 though.. that's Jiri Fischer's number and it's supposedly 'unavailable'

Maybe the 5 fell off ;) In any case, what's wrong with having #52 even if he switches? I always think jerseys like that are interesting. Like a Holmstrom #15.

maybe lids stole it, wanted another one or something haha

I would wait for awhile. The thing about rookie numbers is that they tend to change alot (Quincey was 45 before last year, Meech was 36). I would wait and see what # Ericsson is wearing in camp first.

I'd say go for it, you'll stand out from all the Yzerman/Lidstrom/Zetterberg/Datsyuk jerseys. You can get numbers changed anyway, can't you? If worse comes to worse take it back to Jersey City or wherever and ask them to swap the numbers.

In semi-related news, MY JERSEY HAS ZETTERBERG'S NUMBERS NOW! It's beautiful ;_;

I think he should just think out of the box and wear a jersey number in the 100s. Better yet, a Greek symbol used to solve math equations, like Theta, or PI*r squared. :huh:

If I was a physics major or something I'd *SO* get a KELLY - *PI SYMBOL* jersey upon graduation.

I can't imagine he took 2, unless Fischer came out and said it's cool that his number be worn by another player, or if Ericsson had the moxy to ask Fischer if he could use his number. Who really knows. I would wait until training camp at least, and see what happens from there. If Stuart does not get re-signed then there might be a strong chance Ericsson comes up more often than not.
