That was weak.

Oh well. It's not an overly big deal, since it's only the first pre-season game. The thing that pissed me off more than the loss was the spewing garbage coming out of the 'Habs commentators mouth tonight. Give a f***ing break already. I wouldn't want to listen to that crap even if I was a Canadians fan. That had to be one of the worst displays of broadcasting I've seen in my life. I almost had to check and see if Mike Haynes or John Kelly became 'Habs fans, and were calling the game tonight. Ugh, my ears are mad at me now.

Ok, so maybe I exaggerate a little, but seriously. Those guys flat out suck at broadcasting. I think a bag of rocks and Evgeni Malkin could probably provide better commentary than those guys.

(and yeah, I'm probably the only one here more upset by that than the loss. Big deal. :D )

I don't know why Pav, Hossa, and Homer got the nod. I was expecting the prospects to get a shot...

Oh well, at least Leino got a chance.

Im sure babcock wanted them to get used to each other. After the injury to lidstrom I dont think u see them the rest of the preseason, maybe 1 more game.

Sounds like Lids will be OK. Ansar Khan reports that the puck "rolled up" his stick and smacked him over the eye. I'm sure it didn't tickle, but from the sound of it the puck probably lost a lot of its energy before it struck him. The x-ray at the hospital was purely "precautionary".

Yeah, I agree with you on them playing together during the game. My above comment was directed at why they were given the nod during the shoot-out. I think it would have been a better move to give all the shootout slots to prospects instead of the regulars, win or lose.

There was an awful lot of blood on the ice after that for just that.... we were sure he got a broken nose.

Oh well it was only preseason and it sounds like Lids is going to be ok. While I wanted the Wings to win, it was nice to see that my former Cincinnati Cyclones played well tonight (Cedrick Desjardins, Thomas Beauregard, Greg Stewart and I think there was one other as well). Also, on the other Canadiens preseason squad is former Cyclone David Desharnais who lead the ECHL in goals last year. He was a thrill to watch last season and has a good chance with the Canadiens as do all of these guys, so I wish them the best.

FWIW: The Cyclones won the Kelly Cup last season the day after the Wings won The Cup. It was incredible to have back-to-back cup celebrations between the Wings and the Cyclones!

Hossa did well, Howard did well, Datsyuk did his "you have puck? Now me have puck" business like 50 times this game, penalty kill was abysmal, powerplay was very good.

How the f*** did Hossa's stick break? I hate having to pay good money to probably the only game I get to see in the year to see someone break their freaking stick on a shootout. Grar frustration.
