Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted October 10, 2008 Well damn- it's a good thing we didn't play the leafs in the playoffs! Who else thinks Babs will have them doing an extra long practice in honour of the turnover nightmare?
puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted October 10, 2008 oh, noooo. Close isn't good enough. Shame to ruin the banner night with this effort, but it will just make them work harder next outing.

Hockeytown Red Wings 245 Report post Posted October 10, 2008 LOL we lost to the Leafs. How disappointing.... We didn't play bad though. We should have created more opportunities in the offensive zone but the Leafs were there to cancel. I'm not gonna freak out about this game because I see no reason to. The Leafs played well, would not say they outplayed us, but they definitely won a lot of battles for the puck. We're gonna be fine, but I'd have liked to see more. GMRwings1983 8,803 Report post Posted October 10, 2008 (edited) And? The Leafs had something to prove and Detroit has been sitting pretty on a Stanley Cup. What did you think? The Leafs wouldn't show up? What did they have to prove? The Leafs haven't shown up for many years now. If the Wings played average tonight, we would have won easily. I guess we now know which guys partied a little too hard in the offseason. Other than Maltby and Homer, no one really played well tonight. evil204 4 Report post Posted October 10, 2008 I keep wondering why Dallas, Colorado, and Pittsburgh didn't play the way Toronto did. That's pretty much the only way to beat the Wings.
savaking72 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2008 Well, it is only one game. First things first. Osgood needs to practice his passing, or get glasses. Still, glad it is just the first game.
DyingAlive 27 Report post Posted October 10, 2008 Good game played by the Leafs. They capatilized on some of our dumb mistakes. Red Wings showed glimpses of good play, however, really over all did not play at all. Hats of to Holmstrom he always is a fighter. Theres 82 games in the season ladies and gentlemen, we aren't going to win everyone, especially when you turn the puck over. Heres to hockey on again, and heres to the Wings playing better against the Sens

motorcitykid 42 Report post Posted October 10, 2008 Pathetic, pathetic effort tonight. Losing your home opener, especially the same night we raise the Cup banner is disgraceful. Losing to the NHL's laughingstock is simple inexcusable.
