zaxx 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2008 A pick for the early season worst player in the NHL. Difficult to pick someone this early on, but he makes a point at least for Lebda to pick up his play. http://www.kuklaskorner.com/index.php/psh/...n_worst_player/
Guest CaliWingsNut Report post Posted October 27, 2008 Interesting... I don't think he's been worst in the NHL (though no one comes to mind), however he definately is in need of improvement if he's going to stay on this team.
Guest Crymson Report post Posted October 27, 2008 The guy doesn't seem to know much if he thinks that "Lebda is an extra defenceman in Detroit who has been forced into regular use due to Chris Chelios and Andreas Lilja being injured." Lebda has been on our third pairing for the last two seasons, playoffs included. People go through slumps.
zata40 3 Report post Posted October 27, 2008 The worst? No. He is slacking a bit though, but to say hes the worst is a bit out there. whatever this dude dont know what hes talking about.
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted October 27, 2008 He's stil hungover from all the partying he did after winning the Cup. Someone should have told Lebda to slow down over the summer.
NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted October 27, 2008 He actually has been brutal. It seems to be the LGW mantra to jump all over a guy for a single bad play let alone a bad game, but Lebda really, truly has been rough.
KrazyGangsta 79 Report post Posted October 27, 2008 He does look a bit over confident out there this season ...
BlueMonk 102 Report post Posted October 27, 2008 I'm not prepared to rank him among all 30 teams, but he's certainly been the worst Red Wing so far. Along with Kopecky, he's the player who needs to elevate his game most. Neither player has done anything besides skate well. Lebda doesn't make a good first pass, can't run the point on a PP, has no goal scoring ability, doesn't hit or fight, is small and hasn't played good defense. Holmstrom96Screens 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2008 I don't agree with said person who made that suggestion that lebda is worst in the nhl. Sure he is going through a rough time right now, but lotd of players have bad streaks. He is going through a bad spurt out there though thats why I traded him off my fantasy team and got Milan Lucic. That trade currently has me in first place, beating everyone.
Mors 201 Report post Posted October 27, 2008 (edited) Lebda has looked horrible so far this season...as I said in the other thread regarding our defense, it seems almost requisite that Lebda be on the ice for EVERY goal against. I think in the last 2 games alone he was on the ice for 4 goals against, and he's constantly turning the puck over. Oh, and I almost forgot...there's no point in this guy skating fast with the puck into the offensive zone since he's completely incapable of passing or scoring in this situation. Edit Again: This comment from the linked post accurately portrays my my feelings watching both games this weekend "He’s making Lilja look like a keeper right now. Who woulda thunk it? ". Guest Four Report post Posted October 27, 2008 Lebda for $1.00!!
The Mule 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2008 Lebda is without a doubt one of the worst defensemen in the NHL who see a regular s***. He has speed, and nothing more than that. Two years ago I thought he might be able to be groomed for considerable success, but now I view him as nothing more than a career third-pairining d-man. In other words, I'd prefer him to not be a Red Wing. Ericsson's time has come.
ShanahanMan 473 Report post Posted October 27, 2008 (edited) THANK YOU! This just reinforces what I've been saying all season (and most of last). Lebda needs to go! Would waaaay rather have a Lilja/Meech or Lilja/Ericsson pairing then Lebda with anyone! He's a drain on the team and every time he seems to be on the ice, the other team gets some sort of offensive rush. Also, I HATED seeing his "professional input" the other night on how to contain the Chicago offense. Like he's some defensive guru or something. Yeah, as if. umredwing11 2 Report post Posted October 27, 2008 I admit, I've always had a distaste for Lebda...especially now because I'd love to see Erikkson in there. But what really bothers me is that he really is failing to take responsibility for how s***ting he is playing. He had some quote in the newspaper that said: "I don't think I'm playing that bad as far as the stats are reflecting." For me, he is playing as bad as his stats say and he needs to realize how far off track he has fallen. Lebda can recover from this poor start, but he needs to get his head on straight. We just saw Babcock bench Maltby, so we know Babcock won't hesitate to sit Lebda.

Lidstromrules16 7 Report post Posted October 27, 2008 (edited) Lebda may not be playing great, but come on. Lidstrom made the biggest goof I have ever seen him make in his career against chicago that gave the chicago guy a breakaway. Lebda has yet to make that big of a mistake, yet no one is blasting Lidstrom. Even Kronwall has caused more damage to the Wings than Lebda with the stupid penalties he takes. Granted Kronwall and Lids both provide better in terms of offensive numbers, I dont think Lebda has been that "noticeable" on D which is a good thing. Plus, I believe it was Andreas Lilja who got burnt easily to the outside in Chicago (before everyone jumps over me, I know he just got back from surgery, but I am just saying) Seriously, our D as a whole have been s***ty, and its wrong to single out Lebda, especially with Lidstrom playing so un.......lidstromlike. OsGOD 3 Report post Posted October 27, 2008 Worst player? what about the dude that can't make the Phoenix Coyotes on a regular basis... think they are worst. If you are on the wings squad by default you place out of the "worst" category... its impossible to be the worst

metalwinger_13 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2008 I agree that lebda should go. I was saying this to my uncle and cousin after the February slump. I thought meech should a lot more consistancy on the back end and could chip in on the power play. Id rather have meech on the back end on the powerplay then Sammy. Iguess basically what im trying to say is mr. "i can skate real fast" should have been the one hitting the door in stead of quincey and letting meech and quince share ice time. I know, thats why I recognized him and Kronwall produced more offensively. But Lebda has yet to make a turnover that I have winced at, unlike Lids. And I am a Lidstrom lover, so to speak
