quit blaming the refs, the wings lost okay? it was a good game but we lost. if they want to call a goal back under review it needs to be conclusive and that one was not CONCLUSIVE. in my opinion it was high but were talking a half inch which obviously cant be called conclusive.

Thank you!

When everyone calms down, they seriously need to look at those replays again and check if they still think it was conclusively above the crossbar. Notice how fast all the Red wings got off the ice? If someone standing around the net thought it was clearly above the crossbar, wouldn't they have stuck around and complained?

The bottom line is the Wings shouldn't have put themselves in a position for a call like that to decide the game. Too many penalties, too many defensive mistakes.

The only reason the Wings aren't getting crushed right now is their offense is crazy good.

Well that's what happens when you play 30 out of 60 minutes against the Goon Squad. Honestly, it's a miracle we didn't get completed embarrassed with the way the Ducks play dirty (and get away with it), the ref's blind eye to it all (and typical bad calls anyway), and the fact that our defensive effort on the PK is lacking BIG TIME! I hope this loss is some true true motivation to get their asses into gear!

I seriously think we just need to get flat out embarrassed to wake our guys up defensively.... it's sad so far, but it's still early (only 10 games into the season and we're 7-1-2... not all that bad really. We're lucky though.

The officiating has been bad but the Wings are playing such atrocious defense that focusing on the whistles is missing the point. The team needs a serious wake-up call and I don't think they've gotten it yet. It will take a couple regulation losses in a row before it really hits home. Blowing multiple goal leads in the 3rd period again and again is not the sign of a disciplined, passionate team.

I agree 100%.

It's sad, but our stellar offense having saved games so far is the reason why no one seems to have woken up and smelled the coffee. :(

I just don't want the Wings to have to go on a losing slide before they wake up and start playing like they did last year and the year before.

You're wrong. Video replay doesn't have to have "conclusive evidence" to overturn a call. Toronto can overturn any call they want.

whatever lets you sleep at night buddy.

You even said it yourself. They would have to overturn the call. so they have to think they see something clearly enough to be worthy of overruling the official who was on the ice. Otherwise, they're gonna let it stand.

It's the same thing.

agreed. amazing though how the wings always score that last minute goal this year. this year the wings are winning games they dont deserve to because of brief flashes of excellent play buried under 50 minutes of garbage, its a good sign though that they can score those timely goals every night.

That kind of magic rarely continues for long. While nice to know we have it, it's not something I would want to rely on...

Focus on discipline, and tighten up the D. That's the 2 biggest issues I see with the Wings right now.

The wings didn't want to be there. That was obvious in their game all night. They were lazy and sloppy and clearly didn't want to be bothered with a game tonight.

OH, thats right--it says it in the rules if its an inch above the bar its still good, if its an inch and a half above the bar its no goal---ARE YOU KIDDING!!!

no im not kidding actually. these people are humans and it was certainly inconclusive. they dont bust out a digital measuring stick or anything, there really arent any good angles to determine these calls within an inch so they made the right call.

how about we all focus on why zetterberg didnt score a hat trick like selanne instead.

 How come you don't get ragged on when you defend the refs?

How'd we play tonight?

I don't think anyone else thinks you're joking, but I do!

Edit: maybe your weren't

I appreciate the faith (or something), but no, I don't think we'll win tomorrow night. It's on the tail end of a back to back game, where the first night we played hard, against the surging Sharks, without our #4 forward. I'm not saying we're going to go 0-72 for the rest of the season, I'm not hitting the panic button, I just don't think we'll beat the sharks tomorrow night.

That was a very frustrating game!!! The Ducks play dirty, the Wings spent too much time in the box, bad calls from the refs and Toronto, bad defense, DMac lost a fight...

The only good things out of this game are:

- Datsyuk and Hossa are doing great playing together, Ozzie had a good game.

- Detroit fans are everywhere...keep throwing those octopi!!!LOL

Hopefully, tomorrow will be a better day/game!!!

3 red wings stars of the game.

1. Cleary, just for taking the hit and making the play that earned us a point... hats off to Kronwall as well for dumping the puck even though it would of been icing, seeing the pass and making it.

2. Dats 2 goals

3. Zats 2 goals.

anaheim didnt play a particularly dirty game tonight, or at least on par with what they normally pull. the elbow pronger threw at datsyuk was dirty but other than that i didnt see anything that made me particularly mad. detroit needs to stay out of the box if they want to beat a team as skilled as the ducks.

dont get me wrong because i hate the ducks as much as the next guy but come on, we cant win em all and this one was entertaining to watch.

Like an undisciplined and lazy team that doesn't give a s*** if they win. They played like they just wanted to be someplace else other than on the ice.

Do you disagree? If so, then for example, take a look at the replay of the last 7 seconds of the 3rd period (that lazy play comes to mind)

Maybe the wings were fed up with the officiating and decided they didn't care to play.....

The Wings played an incredibly undisciplined and sloppy game defensively. The only reason they were in it at the end is because of their unbelievable clutch offense. The refs did not steal this game. There is no conspiracy. Detroit was mostly a mess.

The Wings may have a cup hangover, but so do a lot of the fans.

QFT.

At some point, the Wings should have realized that the refs were being very liberal with the whistles. Rather than focusing on staying disciplined, they kept playing as they had and the parade of calls kept on. Blaming the refs is just deflecting attention away from where the real problem lies.

well except of lazy lapses causing us to get huge amounts of penalties we could and shoud have won the game. The only thing I really disagree with is the fact that they didn't call a lot of what they really could and should have against the Ducks, I really hope Pronger gets injuried with a high elbow.

Oh and Kopecky played good so that means you should have a season ending injury soon.
