clutchngrab 12 Report post Posted October 31, 2008 This is a team of haves and have-nots. Our best players are really good - but it seems if I was grading you would give A's and B's and F's. The F's (you know who they are) really need to pick it up. The good thing is that Babcock will only give a grace period for a limited amount of time.
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted October 31, 2008 Time to bring in Gordon Bombay to get this team turned around. Yeah, and bring in Sean Linden and the Hanson Brothers to provide some grit too
adtthosa 5 Report post Posted October 31, 2008 Well that was obviously a crappy game. I'd like to see our roster shaken up a bit but I will be very surprised if that happens. People have been ripping Kopecky alot tonight but I thought he had a pretty good game. Lots of hits, drew a penalty in the first, assist on the Rafalski goal. I'm not exactly a big fan of him but he looked alright out there. The only good thing about this game was that I have Rafalski and Hossa in my pool.
RedWingsFanatic 4 Report post Posted October 31, 2008 There is no way you can make a judgment on who the best team in the league is after 10 games. It just doesn't make any sense. Schedules are unbalanced and lots of things are still up in the air. After 25 games, I think you can realistically start making some assumptions. San Jose looks very good, yes, but it's too early to start comparing teams or looking at the standings. If the Wings can win in Vancouver on Sunday, the road trip will actually be pretty successful, as they would earn 7 out of a possible 10 points. Tonight's game was fairly discouraging, but like I've said, they played under some very difficult circumstances. I fully expect these two teams to contend all season long, and their remaining three games against each other should be fun. 7-2-2. If somebody had told me that's where we would be after 11 games, I would have taken it. And, for the record, I think it shows just how much of an elite team the Wings are that they have been able to win, or at least earn points, in games where they have played far from their potential. That's what an elite team does.
b.shanafan14 733 Report post Posted October 31, 2008 the Wings have been absolute garbage this season, tonite was the worst effort yet. Anyone else sick of endless turn overs and a team GAA of around 4?
Hockeytown Red Wings 245 Report post Posted October 31, 2008 Wow. You are so superior to all those fans of other NHL teams who said the Wings would just get beaten in the first round for that three season stretch between 03 and 06. Congrats. Tell me when the Wings win the cup because they went three years being pumped to win the cup and couldn't accomplish crap, right? You are incredibly salty tonight. I don't mean to come off as if I'm over here fartin rainbows, but it's still early. It's not the end of the world. If you were to ask my roommate he'd tell you I was in the living room, swearing all night. I'm usually as pissed off as you when the Wings play like this....for some reason, I'm not too worried. If this continues, save me a seat on the hatewagon though.

YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted October 31, 2008 Gotta love Babcocks straight stare as he was going onto the ice, I wish we could hear what he says in the dressing room. Probably something like: *Enters Locker Room* "What the f*$# were you doing out there Hoodlu?!?! You useless ()$*%()*$!!! God, Jiri I dont even #%)@$$ know why I play you. You're complete s***.....MIKAEL!" *Turns to look at Samuelsson* "....you'll be getting all of Hudler's ice time next game." *Goes to leave Locker room* "Good effort tonight, lebs"
VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted October 31, 2008 To be fair, it IS too early. Remember that year a few seasons ago when the Rangers were like the 2nd best team in the league up until January, and didn't they miss playoffs that year? WAY too early. But it IS damn frustrating, and something needs to be done. Thank God we have Mike Babcock. If nothing else, my faith in him is unshakeable.
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted October 31, 2008 Sean Linden is a choke artist. We're all about reclamation projects, we can turn him into a winner.

MTU_Huskies963 398 Report post Posted October 31, 2008 Bet Pen's fans are reading these GDT's and laughing their asses off. Probably not because crosby left the game with an injury with 5 mins to go in the 2nd. They are all having a candle lit ceremony for him. So they are probably to busy to read the boards
ben_usmc 253 Report post Posted October 31, 2008 Our PP is the biggest thing to protect us, we don't need an energy line. We want to roll 4 lines. WHEN THE f*** ARE WE GOING TO ROLL THESE 4 LINES. Why bother putting this s***ty 4th line out there for 5min a game that provides no energy, no defense, no offense, no checking..... Please God let Lebda be waived soon, good to see we made the right choice with waiving Quincey. Lastly how the f*** are we the ducks with all the penalties this year? So much for the theory of refs calling trying to keep games close...
