We havent dominated a game all season, shots have be dead even almost every game. This isnt the Redwings im used to watching. Sure as hell miss that puck possesision team we once were.

Embarassing losss, but I'm not worried quite yet. We're exercising a dominant offense and a sub-par defense, though I'd gladly sacrifice a little of the former for more of the latter.

Good game of hockey. Tonnes of skills displayed from both teams, just not much defensively. Great game for hockey fans to watch - not so much if you happen to be a Wings fan. The Pens showed heaps of heart and Zigomanis and Staal were money when their teammates needed it. Crosby and Talbot played good hockey too.

I feel sorry for Ozzie though. He played well, but the Pens crashed the net BIG TIME and there were a couple bad bounces too. Our guys weren't physical enough in the slot and showed no aggression on the backcheck in the final 10 minutes.

We need to harden up a little and quit allowing opponents forwards so much free reign in our zone.

Watching the Wings hang on for dear life with the game well within reach for the Pens, running around in their own zone and getting beaten to every puck, with turnover after mental error compounding into goal after goal... Well, it's probably just what they needed. They've been playing fast and loose on D all season and it's about time they felt the consequences thereof. With all the hype leading up to this game, the Wings lost more than just a point with their loss -- I hope they seize the opportunity here to redouble their efforts and start playing the game like we know that they can.

I agree, sometimes it takes a monumental failure to wake everybody up.

Over the past few weeks Babcock has said he has not been happy with the Wings Performance, despite them winning He knows they are still working out issues.

If he had been saying every thing was fine this whole time, I might be worried at this point, but that is not the case.

Great Athletes/Coaches always expect more from themselves/their team. Coaches/Players who win a game and say, we won but this is where we need to improve are truly champions. And the Redwings are full of champions, from the top down... That is why I'm not worried.

I am sorry but why are the Wings getting hit with all these 5-3 it seems to me the NHL does not want the wings to either win or blow a team out with the offense they have. This does not sit right with me to many 5-3's to let the other team back in to the game which is exactly what happened last night. Then give the other team a penalty when they are down by one so we can send this game to OT. Yet on the winning goal Dat's gets tripped with a kick to his skate and goes down with no call and leads to a goal the winning goal. And the NHL's golden boy wins in Detroit the team that beat him in the finals, the team that stole his winger and back up goalie. The night he has waited for since the schedule was released.

Betman needs to Go away and stop prompting a Whinny ass kid and stop these mandates to the refs to keep the effing games close. I swear if I am ever in NY and see this peice of **** walking down the street I am going to clock him one.

Sorry did not mean to rant just oh the hell with it the guy is a ******.

I agree that the officiating was suspect, but that's no excuse for blowing a lead the way the Wings did.

BTW, who's the girl in your avatar?

I pretty much stayed away from this thread after I got back from the game.. i am not even reading it... i heard enough of the moronic comments in person last night to satisfy me...

so i will just say 13 effing goals?!?!?! that was a sweet! who cares if we lost its the freaking 2nd month of the long long long season... that was fun as hell to watch kept you (or at least some) in their seats all game long. Also Kudos to the Pens fans traveling from pitts on a tuesday night to fill up our arena!
