That's the problem, though. 14 games in, and the defense is just as shaky as it was in game 1. I was saying the same then- let things shake out. It's the Cup hangover, Lidstrom's got a visor, Cheli's missing, but that's starting to get hollow.

They had a good shot at the win, but they simply got outworked in the 3rd and OT. I'm fine with getting outplayed. That happened. However, no one should accept getting outworked. EVER.

It's not sitting on the fence. It's just one of three identities people assume when it comes to this season. There's:

1. People who think the sky is falling because we're not playing as well as last year.

2. People who think everything is fine, and we'll get into playoff form soon enough.

3. People who are happy with the performance thus far because we're winning games, but know there's plenty to be improved.

Firstly, Osgood is not to blame. Did a great job given how many shots were against him and how much play was in our zone in the 3rd period.

The defense was the problem, but only really in the 3rd after the Penguins fightback had begun.

What I'm pissed at are the two calls on (I think) Franzen then Filpula for the 5-3. That's where the game turned. To say the calls were soft is a gross understatement!! Games with 2 solid teams like tonight are won and lost on turning points like that. The officials f#cked those two calls up good and proper! And of course, they scored on the 5-3 and straight after the expiration of their powerplay.

Perhaps Crosby's bottom lip got too big and it all came out with his "chat" with the linesman in the 2nd Intermission....

Not even close - you cannot have a worst game in early November.

Giving up 5 goals in about 15 mins is inexcusable. I thought for sure we would win in a shoot out - meaning shoot out style game. This is very disappointing for sure. We still have alot of time to correct this though, it's just inexplicable to have so many boneheaded turnovers in one period...sigh.

Well according to you nothing is ever wrong with this team, every player is amazing, nothing bad can ever be said about anyone.

Lose 15-0, "No worries, next game!". Lose 7-2, "Chillax people, bad game!". Same thing after every loss. We know this team is good and a regular season loss in the grand scheme of things doesn't matter much, but it's getting a bit concerning now how pathetic our defence is and it hasn't improved from the opening night. Major worries, Lidstrom looks as shaky as he ever has, Rafalski continues to make error after error, and the constant giveaways are deplorable. Something isn't working and it's more concerning than just "one game, move on".
