Lays out Staubitz with one punch.

There's something to be said for being prepared to fight. But c'mon. We've seen this act from Tootoo before.

To his credit, Staubitz challenged him later and he fairly dropped them at least gave the guy a chance. Still, Toots is such a ******. What is it with him? As soon as somebody says "you wanna go?" He drops a glove a drills somebody. I dunno, where I come from an invitation is usually met with an RSVP and then you go.

As an aside, it was nice to see the Sharks step up. I dunno if it was b/c of that incident but watching Jumbo Joe fight pipsqueak, cheap shot artist Nichol and then watching shelly PWN DeVries made me giddy. I love to see Nashville players eat some knuckles.

Tootoo is a joke. He's a spectacle, not a hockey player. Good for the fans in Nashville, not so good for the game.

I didn't see the fight in question but he definitely is known for mugging guys before they can even get their gloves off. Half the time the opponent doesn't even know he's in a fight until Tootoo's already wailed on him 3 or 4 times.

I'd like to think Nashville is the only team stupid enough to keep him in the lineup, but who knows. When his contract ends next year if he doesn't get re-signed, sadly someone else will probably take him.

The only good thing about Tootoo is that when he's on the ice, there's a decent chance Nashville will get scored on.

haha tootoo what a joke, he tried picking up my gf's sister a few years ago...she shot him down hahaha, anyways yeah, i cheered for him on team canada a few years ago but ever since he started in the nhl i have hated him, he is gonna seriously hurt somebody with his style of play on the ice.

I have to say he was one of hardest working, if not the hardest working Nashville player

in playoffs when we last met them and their team was underinvested and decimated by

injuries. goon as he is this is and always will be big in my book.

that being said I hate this spoiled brat and always enjoy him taking smack. he doesn't

deserve to be in this league

The thing about Tootoo that makes him so unpredictable is that he's completely spastic, so far as I've seen. In fights, in shifts, in practice, the guy just doesn't ever slow down. Period. So when a guy wants to fight, Tootoo is a step ahead (which isn't acceptable in most cases, as seen last night), but even in fair-start tilts he often just throws more punches than the other guy. Combine that with the fact that he works out like a monster and is pound-for-pound the strongest guy on the Preds, you get a half-crazed, hyperactive maniac with no hardwired restraint. It's dangerous and he knows it, the team knows it and everyone he lines up against knows it too.

you'd be lucky if this is all you catch from Tootoo. <_<

Goon is the correct term for this guy, he is known for not fighting fairly. But I still prefer his brand of goonery - thug and mug the opponent - to the actions and excuses of Pronger, a player who should know better.

I was actually impressed with how he reigned it in during the playoffs last year, stayed out of the penalty box while being a consistent threat every time he was on the ice and being one of their hardest workers.

This is very true. But man oh man does it piss me off when he just cold ***** somebody.

And it isn't like he does it so much in the heat of battle. Like somebody steamrolls Legwand and he jumps in to instigate a fight.

What he does is somebody asks him "do you want to fight" and Tootoo just straight up punches the other guy in the face. Granted he doesn't do it all the time and yes, he took his visor off which I give him full marks for.

But what is it with him not being able to start fights fairly? Somebody asks you to go. You say yes or you say no. If you say yes, then you back up, drop your gloves and square off. Somebody needs to send Jordin a memo that explains to him that punching somebody in the face when they're asking you if you want to go is not part of the code.

He reminds me of that video of the two boxers from a few years back. The bell rings and the one boxer goes to touch gloves and the other guy just knocks him out with one punch. WTF is that?

Hahaha.... Nichol would've won if Big Joe's face was located on his left shoulder, but alas- he's not that much of a freak. That was like watching Hudler fight Phaneuf.

Tootoo was a ***** for not fighting Staubitz when he stood right up after getting punched right of the bat, but he redeemed himself by accepting Staubitz's challenge later in the game. Too bad that was a lame fight too :P

A friend I am once removed from (friend of a friend) was wearing a Red Wings jersey in a crowded bar down south (not directly in Nashville). Throught out the night he keeps hearing someone yelling, "Reddd Wiiings Suuuuck" in the background, but never sees who it is. Finally this short guy, built like a tree trunk comes by with a s*** eating grin on his face. Jordin Tootoo, of course. Says hi and jokes around for a bit.

Do I like that Tootoo plays a hard game? Yes.

Do I like the energy he brings? Yes.

Do I like that he's the first of his generation (unless I heard differently) to make it to the NHL? Yes, and it's a good story, but I don't like how it is sometimes overblown.

Do I like how he cheap shots people from time-to-time? No.

I like physical and aggressive play just like anybody else, but there are times where you got to curb and harness your aggressive play to where you aren't a detriment to your team. While I don't watch the Predators that much, I'm not sure if Tootoo has learned this.

You need a wrecking ball out there on the ice every now and then but that is all he is usually good for. Despite that, he was Nashville's best player in the first few games of the playoff series against Detroit last spring.

At times I like him and his intensity, but then with Tootoo I eventually refer to a WTF moment whenever I either see or read about something he did questionable or with a cheap shot.

I don't know why anyone is suprised!! Everytime Nashville is getting their asses handed to them, the only thing they can do is cheapshot and goon it up, but just like their garbage organization they forgot that they weren't playing Columbus and San Jose just happenes to be a team that is not going to be pushed around. There is nothing better than watching Greg Fabreze getting his face smashed!! TooToo getting beat, and to top it all off, Arnott was taken off on a stretcher after he had a nasty collision!!! Arnott was ok, he has a neck strain!! I think I have th eperfect place for TooToo, how about joing Vince McMahon and WWE!!! There is nothing better than watching Goonville getting beat down!!!

I like TooToo when he's not playing the wings. I guess because he's 100% all the time. Plus unlike Pronger and others he is willing to pay the price for what he does. I understand why most hate him, but I at least respect his game, plus he is much smaller and willing to go with anyone; come on you have to admit even you guys would love to see TooToo run Pronger. Lastly I heard a few stories in the past that made me start to like him, basically about him being an extremely nice guy off the ice. I don't know I don't always have great logic.

Ryane Clowe gave him his. If he wants a real go, it's with him, not Staubitz. Tootoo is a spotpicker.

Staubitz is a fine combatant for Tootoo. When you are 5'8 you have no choice but to sometimes pick your spots, but this is a guy who's hung in there with Reed Low.... unreal, underrated fighter.

EDIT: About this incident... yeah it is a bit cheap, but players should expect this by now. Like I said, when you're 5'8 you have to pick your spots and pick em well, Tootoo is a great fighter because he gets himself so focused and motivated. If you want to get a piece of Tootoo you had better be ready because he certainly is.

Tootoo hung in with Low? Well then. I guess even though he's a spotpicker, he's a tough little SOB.

Lol, I can't stand Avery, but I've grown to actually like Tootoo... that little guy can lay down a beating when he wants to.

Sure, he can... when no one is squared off with him.
