RusDRW 155 Report post Posted January 4, 2009 that was the worst team Canada I've seen in many years... Tavares is a bust just like Stamkos. Simply cannot bring when it matters most. There is no bright future for your kids unfortunately. On the other hand it is best WJHC team Russia since 2002.

GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted January 4, 2009 AMERICANS, christ. I'm not really an American, but I get your joke now. I just wanted the Canadians to lose because I'm tired of them always winning this tournament. It makes for better competition if they lose.
ComradeWasabi 109 Report post Posted January 4, 2009 From what I understand, Wayne Gretzky's in Toronto was a ******* riot last night. My brother said that people actually peed a little bit when Eberle tied it.

I guess maybe if he had scored into the empty net. No bright future for our kids? Maybe you dont know who Evander Kane, Ryan Ellis and John Tavares are. 3 undrafted kids, that played major roles in knocking out that best team since 02. Tavares is bust? Premature? But that's cool, I hope we keep getting busts then, because there clutch when it counts, 5.4 seconds, leading the tournament in goals and points... yeah what a bust. Saran 1 Report post Posted January 4, 2009 Canada-Russia, SF: This game could have been a bigger winning margin if Canada would have shot more; too many attempts for "the perfect play". But, we do have three notable things in Canada right now: 1) A lousy national leader, 2) A dollar with lousy value and 3) A chance at a Gold Medal and, with it, a fifth consecutive Junior World Championship! And, right now: 3 > (1+2) LOL. talk about being a sore loser. don't even get into politics when your the one living in the USA.

I find it funny that Stamkos is a bust because he hasn't put up points as an 18-year old. It's not that uncommon. Canada was at a bit of a disadvantage because of the top-five picks in the past NHL draft (all Canadian, by the way), only one was able to play in the tournament (Pietrangelo) because the other four are in the NHL. It would be a different story with Stamkos, Doughty, Bogosian & Schenn playing, but that's the way it goes when you develop high-end players. Plus I think guys like Gagner, Turris, Sutter, Gillies & Bailey were eligible too, but are in the NHL. And I suppose you had your head buried in your make-believe world when Tavares scored two goals 43 seconds apart in the game against the U.S. that rallied Canada from being down 3-0. And you probably didn't notice who got the puck to Eberle when he tied it up: John Tavares. Edited January 4, 2009 by MacK_Attack

ComradeWasabi 109 Report post Posted January 4, 2009 Tavares is a beast, no doubt. I can't help but like Ellis with his Al MacInnis-style slapshot (arms straight up in the air), and everybody has to like PK Subban because he is a black Canadian hockey player. Yeah. PK is f'in awesome man... he is from my area Rexdale, everyone remembers him from way back because when we were really young he was soo small but soooo fast, he's always been an amazing skater... but now he actually has some size and he is just a powerful dude in anything he does, his shots, hits, rushes.... he'll be an exciting player for years to come

mjlegend 155 Report post Posted January 5, 2009 Hedman scares the s*** out of me. If he's the "Swedish Pronger", as he's been billed the last two years, he should be elbowing Tavares' head into the boards tonight. And like Pronger's dirty hits, it'll go unpenalized. Yak19 303 Report post Posted January 5, 2009 Lucky is more like it. This was a Russian choke more than a Canadian win. A team is defined by what it does at the most crucial times, therefore Canada > Russia. I will be enjoying the game tonight as it is the last time i get super drunk before going back to school tomrw.
