Man Homer is a badass. Takes the puck to the face gets up and skates to the bench with a look of a little discomfort. Hope he's all right and that was one hell of a second period.

He's had plenty of time to practice those shots with Sammy.

It's now clear that Pav makes any line he's on work.

To be fair, Datsyuk is really the only playmaker on the team. Hudlers inching that way, but Hossa, Hank and Franzen is a bunch of finishers with no playmaker. Then you have Hudler and Datsyuk on the same time.

Babs just needs to admit that he was SO wrong thinking that Filppula was the better of the two between Hudler and Flip, and give Hudler his due - a permanent spot on the 2nd line.

I don't think they're looking too bad, but something isn't quite right with Hank this season.

Hossa hasn't been very great the past 7 or 8 games or so either. I really don't think Hossa is a great fit for this team, either.

As for Hank, I don't really care that hes not putting up the points - bodes well for contract negotiations - but he just doesn't look himself. His passes in particular have really fallen off.

I wouldn't be surprised if the idea of a new contract is weighing heavily on him. Hank seems like a pretty pensive guy. Wouldn't be surprised if hes thinking a lot about the terms of his contract. Its a bigger deal than just signing a piece of paper.

Yea, 2nd on the team in scoring and consistently good to excellent defensive play. Been a horrible fit.

My guess on what's been up with Z, atleast as far as his scoring goes, is not being paired consistently with Datsyuk. And also on the ice less with Lidstrom, since he hasn't been on the top unit as much..

His defensive play has still been great, though.

 Look past the stats (which are below a PPG anyways). Its obvious that Hossa doesn't have great chemistry with anyone in particular on this team. Thats a huge reason why the lines this year have been anything but set.

At any rate, nice job at the debate. I guess "not being a great fit" automatically means "horrible fit."

Most of Hossa's success was because he was with Datysuk. He hasn't looked good since the line got split up. If Hossa can only succeed on the Datysuk line, if he can't man his own line and play with other people, he's not fitting in. He's the highest paid forward, but he's far from the most effective.
