fudsak 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2009 Does anyone know the name of the song played at Joe Louis Arena after Datsyuk scores a goal? They have only started playing it very recently, but it's a Russian or other eastern European song. Hopefully we'll hear it again tonight
sjradio 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2009 From hearing it on tv, it's like a cross between the kids from "It's a small world" and the New Kids on the Block...

ComradeWasabi 109 Report post Posted January 10, 2009 I wish they would play "I Feel Good" by James Brown when he scores. I'm sure I'm not the only one who remembers the interview where that song is his ringtone.

LeftWinger 5,152 Report post Posted January 10, 2009 ...they should play "That's The Way I Like It" by KC and the Sunshine Band. If you replace the word "That's" with "Dats" when you sing it. Actually, it kinda sounds like he is singing "Dats" if you listen to it. "Dats the way, uh huh, uh huh I like it! Uh huh, uh huh!"

Zion 93 Report post Posted January 10, 2009 It is not new. They've been playing it for a while. It had extended play last night before they dropped the puck, so that's probably why you finally noticed. Some of you only recently caught on that they play "I Can See Clearly Now" when Danny Boy scores.

RWK23 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2009 My favorite is still "Feels like the First Time" when Darren Helm scored in the playoffs last year. That was awesome.

miller76 463 Report post Posted January 11, 2009 I was wondering what that was also when Dats scores. But I like the song 1-2-3, when someone scores a hat trick. I also like when they play that old Elton John song they play when the Blues are in town and they lose. "And that's why they call them the Blues....." Blaayze 25 Report post Posted January 11, 2009 If you get yourself an FLV converter (90% of the time they are free) just get "DownloadHelper" (provided you use firefox), and download it yourself. It's what I do for my wings/wakeboarding videos. It's always nice to tag a movie before someone claims it as copyright! ;D
Kira 451 Report post Posted January 11, 2009 I like the "Matter of Trust" beginning for four goals. I always liked that song. A new one they could use...Mudcrutch (Tom Petty's side project) has a song called "Don't Scare Easy"... I don't scare easy... Don't fall apart when I'm under the gun You can break my heart but I ain't gonna run I don't scare easy for no one I also remember the James Brown bit...I laughed and loved that. And saved it on You Tube.
akustyk 84 Report post Posted January 11, 2009 (edited) This could be what you're looking for - this is simpy the good old "Kalinka", except the performance here is something... terrible to say at least. when I grew up "Kalinka" was the primary melody I associated with ice hockey. they used to play it on many WC, Olympics or Izviesti (Baltic?) Tournament. I might be wrong but I think this also used to be played in a lot in Czech Extraliga. neni to pravda? this version: is much better Edited January 12, 2009 by akustyk
34Legace34 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2009 (edited) The guy that does the music for Wings games is a genius... I remember him playing some German song that kept repeating Du Lang every time Robert Lang would score. Can anyone ring off some of the rock songs that are commonly played at the Joe? Theres one that I would like to find, but have no idea what it's called. He plays "believe in a thing called love" by The Darkness alot, but thats not the one im looking for. scotzman 29 Report post Posted January 12, 2009 The guy that does the music for Wings games is a genius... I remember him playing some German song that kept repeating Du Lang every time Robert Lang would score. I think that song is actually a Motown song by the Chiffons, "He's So Fine"... I think it says something like, "he's so fine... doo-lang, doo-lang-doo-lang."

Worst music guy in professional sport. Everytime I hear "Wide Open Spaces", I cringe. Yes it fits, but it sucks. This is hockey, not the grand ole opry. I can appreciate players having their own songs in the mold of Shanny's Irish Jig, but the music selection on the whole is awful.
