VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted February 2, 2009 How could you forget that disastrous series in 1999? The Wings had Colorado circling the drain, even their media thought it was over and wrote hilarious articles like this, Yzerman was ripping it up, and then it all went horribly wrong. That's a great article!

Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted February 2, 2009 Larry Murphy...LOL! God, Murph in '01. Who could forget him taking days to get from the blue line to the face off dot as LA stormed back to beat us. Much love, but egads was he ever done.

The Wings had Colorado circling the drain, even their media thought it was over and wrote hilarious articles like this, Yzerman was ripping it up, and then it all went horribly wrong. I could never forget that awful memory - although I do try very hard. I remember the press here in Denver crying it was over, and then -boom- secret agent Ranford strikes again. How about Norm Maracle?

Hockeytown Red Wings 245 Report post Posted February 2, 2009 Dmitri Bykov was solid defensively. Everyone here I didn't forget, just because I re-watch so many old games. I'll think of a good one... How about Mike Ramsey (of Miracle on Ice fame) or Jim Cummins?

eva unit zero 271 Report post Posted February 2, 2009 Krupp was on the team in `02 but did not qualify to get his name on the Cup. He did score that Stanley Cup game-winning goal with the avs in `96 Krupp was voted to start the All-Star game for the World Team as a Red Wing one year, although if I recall correctly he missed the game injured. Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted February 2, 2009 G Mark Lamothe? The Moth! He filled in admirably for the Wings during the Legace/Joseph/Hasek catastrophe. I checked, he played a whole two games, and went 1-0-1.

datterberg1340 626 Report post Posted February 2, 2009 Todd Gill I usually forget about, a few others too but they've already been mentioned I for one will never forget the meltdown that was the '99 playoffs, I think freakin' Dale Hunter beat Ranford with a shot ALONG THE ICE from THE BOARDS... still disgusts me to this day, but we got sweet revenge in '02, plus even though the Avs beat us that year and the year following, they did not reach the Cup finals either time, got ousted both times by the Stars, I believe
