I'm proud of Andreas for driving that puss Backes into the boards like that. Too bad he wasn't wheeled away on a stretcher, but there's always next game.

I think that's taking it a little too far,you get a kick out of players getting wheeled away on stretchers?

Really? I thought the defense was terrible. Rafalski had an awful night, and even though only the second PP goal was really the result of anything the Wings could control, they still had too many giveaways, lousy clearing attempts and bad first passes that get picked off and start a rush the other way for my liking.

To compound that problem the offense was indeed uncharacteristically sluggish. The way I tell it it seems like the Wings must have gotten blown out, but as you said, poor goaltending from the Blues saved their skins tonight.

If it takes an ugly win like that to get them going, that's fine by me. The streak is over so they can at least get that off their backs.

Five minute major for boarding, 10 minute game misconduct.

I see it differently. Only 6 giveaways tonight, and not a whole lot of mistakes. They just didn't bring anything. They didn't play well, but they didn't play bad. What they did, was nothing.

True, nothing much, but not bad. But if it is the first period, I doubt it. They were terrible.

Agree. I thought Cheli looked strong, especially compared to Kronwall and Rafalski.

First of all yes Chelios was very good tonight.

But I think I could have looked better than Rafalski. Kronwall was bad but not in the same league of bad as Rafalski.

Chelios hasnt had a bad game this season, the old goat still got game!

A solid night for Ozzie, other then the 1st goal IMO. Glad to see Backes get some from Lilja, I hope that scumbag wants some payback next game, and the Pain Train makes his long awaited return.

I was at this game.. and was more than thrilled to hear the Ozzie chants. If anything, it helps boost the confidence in him. He impressed me with that 5 minute PK. The Blues could've scored quite a few nasty goals - but Ozzie showed up big.. making some key saves.

All in all, I had fun. I was glad I got to do the "Ozzie" chant.. and even happier than we got the W.

Geez, where have we heard this before?

"Guys played great and I'm the reason that we lost," Legace said. "I was the worst guy in the NHL tonight."

Off he goes to hang himself...

Seeing him on the bench you could tell he was depressed. He was just looking at the floor under him.

I've always had a soft spot for him though.

An ugly win is still a win!

I was at the game and a few guys really stood out for various reasons.

Osgood - Was brilliant in the last 30 or so mins of the game and made some huge saves especially during OT.

Hossa - was good and able to capitalize on a couple of half chances to turn them into goals.

Datsyuk - his puck control was a little off tonight and he just couldn't seem to get make the passes he normally pulls off, just put it down to a bad game.

Leino - showed some good skill in the limited time he had.

Chelios - was solid defensively and helped the Wings out of some tough spots.

Overall the team seemed just a fraction off with all of their passing and attempts at entering the zone. With all the changes due to inury though thats hardly a big surprise. If Leino and Abdelkader stay up for a couple more games i think we should see them settle in nicely.

This game for me really epitomized the Wings first half performance but everyone knows what they need to do to improve for the stretch run.

Maybe this was obvious on the Broadcast, cause it certainly wasn't in the arena, but what did Tkachuk do to earn one of the 3 stars. Didn't see him do anything noteworthy during the game yet his name popped up at the end. WTF???

And yet another bad game by the Wings. I hope there will be changes before the playoffs start otherwise we don't stand a chance against the hungry teams.

Poor man sounds like mindfly, though Legace blames himself not the others.

I find that rather refreshing, that Manny takes responsibility. I still like him a lot, poor little ferret.

Neither team played great, but we won, so... woo!
