I hope this game doesn't bring back the bad Ozzie. Just as he was getting his confidence back he got thrown into this mess.

Where were those fans during the year and playoffs? Why was the Joe empty? It's a friggen Stanley Cup Parade, who wouldn't go? I'd go to a Toronto Blue Jays parade if they won the <insert baseball trophy here> and I don't give 2 s***s about them. It's a social event, a friggen' parade...it's not hockey.

Ah, but consider that in Anaheim they could barely scrape together enough Cup-victory revelers to fill the Pond's parking lot. By your logic the city should have been going ******* insane.

I think there's ultimately more to it than "Oh, it's a free event, let's just go because it's there". I still stand by the fact that with employment being such a massive issue in Michigan people simply can't afford to go to games on any kind of regular basis, let alone for late rounds of the playoffs.

A few thoughts on my end regarding tonight's games:

-It's games like these when the fairweather fans are revealed. They become very visible, as they can't tolerate the team playing one bad game. They need success all the time.

-The Wings have played a lot of games in the last couple of weeks. They're obviously very tired; they're just not moving very quickly, and Nashville is beating them to a lot of pucks as a result. Presumably the fatigue is bringing on a lot of of the unforced errors, as well.

-Sometimes lots of bad bounces happen in the same game.

-Then again, it's REALLY games like these when the fairweather fans are revealed, because they just can't handle all of this.

Yes in many ways. But games like these and the fact that we've had so many 3-4+ GA games this year no matter who's in goal really affirm the fact that there is a very big defensive problem with this team. Considering the trade deadline is days away, it's kinda coming to a head especially with a game like this.

People say, "oh, we're still winning games." Yeah, true, and I dig it. But say we hadn't signed Hossa and his 34 goals thus far this year, our GF goes down significantly. No one was available and no one on this team can step up and score like he has this year. We're at 234 goals now and if we didn't have Hossa, I think we'd be at 210 give or take 5 or so.

Now, consider that our GA right now is 179 and that's with Hossa, a great defensive-forward. Rolling him on a line is a major help to the D. He's another Selke level guy. Take him away and conservatively, maybe we have 185-190 GA.

I mean, sure, that means we're still outscoring opponents, but how many close games have we won this year? How many times have we had to score 4-5 to win? Take Hossa out and it's a totally different season if you ask me. A season in which we actually might've been scraping to get into the playoffs with everyone else.

Why?

Defense.

All season.

It needs to get fixed.

And 7-0. I seriously don't feel like this is real.
