TimeBinder 28 Report post Posted March 9, 2009 COOL! I've met him 3 times. He's FANTASTIC. Your a female and probably cute - first time tried to take our pool with a blond on each arm thinking he's the s***; second time Post downtown kept showing off his new watch and being an ass, even Shanny rolled his eyes- and shook his head. TimeBinder 28 Report post Posted March 9, 2009 (edited) Funny statement from a guy throwing around personal attacks. Awwww! snap - strong!!!!! I was responding to her only - the other assclown asked for it. I said keep it civil and got "f*** off" like he also expressed to others. I just gave an opinion. If you don't like what others say either don't say anything or speak to them as you would want to be spoken to, Si? Third Man In 2,091 Report post Posted March 9, 2009 Wow. People who would take the opportunity to bash Osgood in a thread congratulating him for approaching 300 victories with the Wings 1.) obviously haven't read the bit in the forum rules where it says to keep the discussion on topic (or don't understand what that means) and 2.) are spoiled fans who don't deserve the Wings. Actually, they're no kind of fans at all.
lomekian 201 Report post Posted March 9, 2009 Offering a perspective from across the pond. Congrats to Ozzie when he gets there. Yes playing on good team helps...no s***..otherwise dom would have had a 100 more wins. But Ozzie has always been a bit up and down, so he's perfectly capable of coming back from this year and getting another 50 wins with the wings. Hes never been an elite tender, but has always been up to this point a very good one, capable of stretches of elite play..hence his stanley cup rings. On the wider point, i've never been totally convinced hes as good as the level we aspire towards, and feel his tempremant is better suited to not having to be 'the man', but rather 'the man who steps up'. Strange that he's struggling this year after his stellar performance last spring, but its not totally out of character. However whatever happens from here, he's been a loyal servant, occasionally brilliant when its required, has brought us 3 cups and has been one of our best draft picks even form this great era that we are still enjoying. Hats off to the guy and lets hope april works its magic on him again... Having said that, isn't it great how ty has exceeded expectations..

Doc Holiday 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2009 Honestly DOC DB get bent you tool. I'm sick boohoo - it's a ******* business you moron. Your little feeling can get it sideways by a prison gang(speaking of entered). I left a door open for being "civil" and you chose this. "Get the hell out" "f*** off" - go cry to mommy when your poster boy f***s up. DOC DB what is it? His gambling addiction, the TB, or the syphilis that draws you to him TOOL. No you didn't. You entered the thread straight out bashing Osgood in a thread where he deserved praise. That is incredibly stupid of you. No need for me to sugarcoat that fact. Electrophile 3,554 Report post Posted March 9, 2009 Boy, this thread became a slow train ride to hell in hurry. 300 wins is an accomplishment, even if Ozzie isn't playing up to par this season. If you can't bring yourself to say even a minute complimentary thing about him regarding the topic of the thread, keep your opinion to yourself or start an "Ozzie sucks donkey dick" thread and bash away there. This garbage is becoming too much. Too frickin' much. Ozzie could cure AIDS and some numbnut here would whine that he left his 5-hole open at the time and Giggy would have done it faster. cusimano_brothers 1,655 Report post Posted March 13, 2009 Osgood's 299 wins, in 520 games played, account for 57.5% of his games with the DRW. When you add that to the 352 wins by Sawchuk, their total of 651 account for 11.6% of all the games played by Detroit in franchise history. Osgood's numbers are very impressive and he should be looked at in the same way.

Just for the record everyone Kipper Giguerre Luongo Miller Thomas Price etc ... < Osgood Only by the names mentioned 1 cup winner < 3 times cup winner I know ozzie not playing amazing, but I don't care how hot the goalies are how good there stats are ... if he won 100 times the vezina trophy if you can't win the chapmionship it don't mean s***. Yes ozzie might have had a better teams then most of them but Cujo had a good team with us, Legace had a good team. Yes a team has everything to do with it but don't forget goalies are part of the team. If you don't have a good goalie there's no way you win a cup. I'm not defending Ozzie his had a terrible season but it's never to late he could bounce back all of a sudden. Ozzie last year in the playoffs was as hot as Giggy and Kipper we're those years that they went finals. I just can't stand it that everyone wants to get him out of the team or trade him. Relax dude if his not playing good which his not go with conks and hope next year osgood bounces back. God damn it his only signed for less then 2 million isn't he?... 3 time cup winner signed for under 2 million ...??????? Now that's a bargain. Osgood is above all of those goalies. What is truly interesting is that Sawchuk had a 47.8% winning percentage compared to Osgood's 57.5% in Red and White.
cusimano_brothers 1,655 Report post Posted March 14, 2009 And, with 2565 wins so far, that figure of 651 wins accounts for a 25.4% winning percentage of games played; of every four games played by the DRW, one win has been recorded by either Sawchuk or Osgood. Outstanding!

So technically what your saying is if Osgood puts up some good numbers in 2-3 season he will be the best Detroit Red Wings Franchise goalie with over 250 wins? KrazyGangsta 79 Report post Posted March 14, 2009 I think if Osgood wins 1 more cup he deserves to get his jersey retired by us, assuming also he gets over 352 wins also.
eva unit zero 271 Report post Posted March 14, 2009 So technically what your saying is if Osgood puts up some good numbers in 2-3 season he will be the best Detroit Red Wings Franchise goalie with over 250 wins? Osgood's and Sawchuk's numbers with the Red Wings, currently, are below. OTLs are counted as losses. Sawchuk: 734GP, 351W-243L-132T, 1,774GA, 85SO, 2.44GAA, 43,606:00TOI Osgood: 520GP, 299W-163L-46T, 1,227GA, 37SO, 2.46GAA, 29,926:37TOI I've always maintained that shutouts rarely occur without the team playing very well; Osgood himself would have probably three or four this season without the defense (most likely Brian Rafalski or Brett Lebda) having directly caused an unstoppable scoring opportunity that led to what ended up being the opposing team's only goal. The number of goaltenders who would have had ten or more shutouts over history without defensive miscues is, well...very high. So let's take a look at what their stats would be like outside of the games that ended up as shutouts. Sawchuk: 649GP, 266W-243L-132T, 1,774GA, 2.76GAA, 38,506:00TOI Osgood: 483GP, 262W-163L-46T, 1,227GA, 2.66GAA, 27,706:37TOI So, despite Osgood's horrendous season this year, he has still been the more consistent of the two goaltenders as a Red Wing, if nothing else. Actually , the fact that Osgood has better numbers in non-shutout games despite his season this year is a huge boost towards that statement. If Osgood has a couple good seasons after this one and wins a Cup or two as starter with the Wings before retirement, it's entirely possible that, at least statistically, he will be considered the best goalie as far as play within the franchise.
