WCQF GAME 2 GDT: Red Wings 4, Blue Jackets 0

Good to see the refs still doing their jobs even though the game is one-sided. I'm truly sickened by the underdog favoritism crap most refs try and pull.

Especially when it's our guys being beaten up. <_<

Man, Osgood sucks.

Wait, no, 98% of the "fans" on LGW suck!

The critics suck.

The doubters suck.

The haters suck.

Osgood, well, he's just doing what he does: play great when it matters most.

Man, I'm loving this team right now and they're just going to keep getting better as the playoffs go on. Downey needs to get called up to kill some people though...

GO WINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Edit: McDonald's Player of the Game 2 games in a row is Chris Osgood. Love it. 15 other teams ought to be afraid right about now.

What a completely satisfying beatdown of a win. That was a solid, 60 minute effort. The Wings dominated all over the ice. Great things to take away from this game:

Defense and PK were excellent (albeit against a Blue Jackets team not known for its PP).

Chris Osgood was EXCELLENT. He's been great in both games.

The Wings were plenty physical and answered the bell.

Stuart, who was the defensive goat so much of the 82, with a tremendous effort to block a shot on the breakaway chance by Columbus early.

The Blue Jackets were undisciplined and totally overmatched in this game; they had no idea the playoffs were played at this high a level and appeared to be shocked by it.

The crowd was outstanding!

I expect a very different Columbus team for these two games coming up in Columbus. The Jackets will feed off their crowd and it will be tough for the Red Wings to keep rolling like this. But winning games one and two at home is critical, and I love how the Wings ferociously pursued that. They did it last season in every series and now they've done it in this one.

Let me just say that it looks like Mike Babcock is STILL a major obstacle to Mike Commodore's success. :)

Really?? Tell me more! Cause I just have to follow Leagues websites. :(

Well, that whole line with Huds and Sammy has been great both of these games, but Flip really stood out to me tonight.

Just playing with lots of speed and good puck control, great passing, and creating some good chances.

When playing like this he reminds me of a younger Datsyuk..

Awesome game. This team looks like they mentally erased the entire regular season and just picked up from where they left off in the SCF last year.

Ozzie.. what can you say. I love the guy.

Let's save the vitriol for only the few people who wouldn't get off Ozzie's nuts. They know who they are, and they've shut up. Either kindly or just waiting for Ozzie to screw up before posting how bad he is (like in the regular season). I do agree though that these people suck, btw, just not with your % there.

Wings have opened the playoffs on an extremely good note and let's hope it continues.

Haven't seen the others yet, but Pittsburgh seems to be tearing up Philly.

Their last game went into OT and the pens had to tie it up in the last few minutes on a BS powerplay, so I'd definitely give us the nod over them by a wide margin since we've yet to trail a single second in our series.

I'd actually say outside of us, Vancouver has looked the next best.

The last four times the Wings went up 2-0 in the first round, the series eventually became tied at 2-2.

No matter how easy it looks right now, this series is long from over. I hope this team remembers the past well.

Like I said earlier tonight, Columbus has to play the trap if they have any chance of beating us.

i said the same thing after last nights game...Couldn't have asked for a better start to the playoffs! The biggest question marks coming in were defense/ozzie, and so far it looks like their both gonna be ok.

Great job OZZIE!!!!

Judging by the score, I've chosen well. My copy was purchased from a collector and he got it in 1973 when it was released. The black of the cover is still glossy, as are the colors. I have both posters and stickers, there's no ring wear/warping, no side splits on the jacket or the original paper sleeve....no scuffs, scratches or gouges in the vinyl.

It's arguably the most valuable piece of vinyl I own, simply because of the condition it's in.

Good on you for understanding all of that. Not only for taking care of of good stuff, but knowing in your heart what the good stuff is.

Ours is shot to hell but it still plays very well.

Nah, the Pens got lucky in Game 2 and didn't look very impressive at all. Fleury's been good though.

Vancouver looks good so far, probably the most impressive along with the Wings.

What's this trap tactic everyone is talking about in NHL.. is it like back home with 5guys, clogg up the neutral zone and go for break aways and turnovers?

You're welcome. It's halftime, so I hope the mods don't mind the off-topicness. A fellow fan, I take it? We make the world go 'round......

I'm age-impaired, but oh yes, I'm a fan of Pink Floyd. The Wall is powerful, powerful sound, and I'm guessing it is considered a classic by anyone who knows music and ensemble work. Probably even little old lady-types who play out-of-tune pianos in little southern Baptist churches wherever. ^_^

It's usually a 1-4 or 0-5 defense, either clog up the middle of the ice or stand 4 up on the blue line. Opposing teams would dump it in then where the goalie would play it out. Obviously rules have been put into place to curb it a bit more but for the most part it's still the same.
