miller76 463 Report post Posted May 11, 2009 Has anyone else seen this? I first heard this on xm the other day. I guess cbc shot some footage of a whiteboard filled with some 'keys to victory' in their dressing room the other day and then preceeded to air it. Then versus does a segment on it, and disects their 'keys to victory' frame by frame. I am sure 'getting the puck deep' isn't exactly a national secret, but that and their other points I guess were not supposed to be shared. Maybe they should have been a little more guarded with their info, if they know a camera crew is coming in. Does anyone know what the policy is for the Wings? I wonder if they take steps to protect their info. Babcock is a pretty smart guy and a good coach. I am wondering how much snooping really goes on behind the scenes, that never surfaces. http://nhl.fanhouse.com/2009/05/07/caps-st...r-room-footage/
GONGSHOW HOCKEY 35 Report post Posted May 11, 2009 (edited) This is a pretty dumb move. I don't really see the big deal. The 'gameplan' on the dry erase board wasn't earth shattering news. Basically just don't turn the puck over, stay out of the penalty box, win the battles, etc. Doesn't surprise me knowing that Capitals coach, he's said alot of weird things lately Edited May 11, 2009 by GONGSHOW HOCKEY
NEpats1028 1 Report post Posted May 11, 2009 this story plus the fact that don cherry rips ovie a new ******* every saturday night is what probably got them booted...

Blueliner 69 Report post Posted May 11, 2009 I can see why they might have a problem with it, but it's not that big of a deal. At the start of every Blue Jackets game, they have an assistant coach tell the viewers what their three keys to the game are. So I guess those keys to the game aren't much of a secret. Or maybe that's why it took the Jackets so long to make the playoffs???
sjradio 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2009 Everything so far has been a distraction for the Caps, they are blaming the officiating and CBC showing the dry erase board rather that actually playing well. Varlamov has let in some soft goals and the defense in front of him hasn't played that well either...

NGKEIB 32 Report post Posted May 11, 2009 Their poor excuse for a "defense" in the last game was pathetic. Mike Green especially. Yeah, I'm surprised by the fact he could win the Norris (I know he won't, but still...). He obviously has great offensive upside, but isn't the best defensive defenseman out there (especially when you take into account he's often in front of his own forwards) at all. It's like nominating [insert one-dimensional goal-scoring forward here] for the Selke. And his play in the playoffs has been piss-poor. Not only is he being sloppy in his own end, but he's not putting up points on the other end (correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't watched all of the Caps games this post-season). chriskzoo 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2009 Anyone know if Don Cherry (who I love) showed the Ericcson/Perry fight? I know he had a big segment a while back saying that if you wear a shield you should never fight a guy without a shield and wondered if he would show that with a Canadian wearing a shield and a Euro not wearing a shield. Rivalred 630 Report post Posted May 11, 2009 (edited) Cap's organization is afraid Don Cherry will start comparing AO's and Crosby's penis size next time on HNIC; that is why they were banned. AO does not need any more death threats from 13 yr old boys saying "mine is bigger." Edited May 11, 2009 by Rivalred

Resetti 44 Report post Posted May 11, 2009 If the Caps knew that they had media coming into their locker room, why didn't someone just erase the board? ...or would they forget ingenius and delicately thought out keys such as "don't turn the puck over?" My question is, what's the big deal? If there weren't specific instructions for individual players, or anything else specific on there, CBC would have been discussing those "keys to victory" with or without knowing it aws on the Caps board. Z Winged Dangler 2,082 Report post Posted May 11, 2009 the caps big game plan is give ovechkin the puck...watch him...and hope he scores. that's pretty ground breaking seeing as it's been their game plan for what, 4 years now?!?

AO does not need any more death threats from 13 yr old boys saying "mine is bigger." Well, it's been my experience that men who claim they are "endowed".......really aren't. So there's 2 strikes against our hypothetical 13 year old Luddite.
