XxGoWingsxX 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2009 Ok so most of you prob know the Hawks are in the WCF now. If the wings can squeak just one more win in, we'll face them...great WCF matchup if you ask me. Just curious, what in your opinions are Chicago's Weaknesses/Strengths? POSITIVES - I feel that the hawks lack depth like the ducks and will be exposed for it after the first couple games. - I also feel that with their core team being so young, playff pressure may get the best of them. - So, the Bulin Wall is a good goalie but very beatable for the wings. We dominated the season series vs the hawks cept for the last 2 games in which i think the wings were just going through the motions to get the season overwith and just played to not lose instead of going all out for the win. - Less travel NEGATIVES - Good team with alot of finesse players and players who can move the puck well - Bulin could very well become hot as hell and cause probs - Hawks can play a very rough, gritty game - The hawks have a young core which can be good and bad...experience helps tremendously and they lack it so thats a plus but their younger core can mean they can be more energetic longer. I'd like to hear all your opinions
Theophany 110 Report post Posted May 12, 2009 It'll probably gonna go 7 games against the Hawks, but we'll edge them out. We're the deeper team with more experience and more talent (though as a team they're very talented compared to most). As long as we keep the fire going like we've had in the past two games, it should be a good series for us. Oh, and getting Rafalski back will be huge. drfnr14 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2009 well i like our chsnces. exspecislly coming off of a duck series. our game will be tough, and our shots on net will be insane. the hawks dont have enough depth to control the wings. plus bulin is no where near hiller. im looking for a shoe in to the SCF. -we must hang tough man on man hockey since the hawks are a young explosive team -look for numerous high goal scoring games!!!!! wings in 6! Echolalia 2,961 Report post Posted May 12, 2009 I think they have more depth than the Ducks do, and as a result it'll also take more to wear them down. In any event, the Wings should be able to exploit their team's youth and force them to make mistakes that our forwards can capitalize on. I expect the series to take no more than 5 games, should we get to the WCF
marcaractac 3,963 Report post Posted May 12, 2009 I have been wanting to see this series since the playoffs began, and now that it is so close I am pumped! I think there would be nothing better than to go through the Blackhawks and the Bruins to get the cup.

Captain_Yzerman19 1 Report post Posted May 12, 2009 (edited) I'm only going to say one thing, because I in no way want to look ahead. But I look at that .896 save percentage of his and I salivate at the opportunity. Edited May 12, 2009 by Captain_Yzerman19

clutchngrab 12 Report post Posted May 12, 2009 I'll say this: Every time the Wings have success it is because we deny time and space - usually in the neutral zone. The fact we that we are out-hitting the ducks bodes extremely well for us. If we get there, I think the hawks will see a team they haven't seen all season. On the other hand, I think the wings are very aware of what the hawks can do. Wings in 5.... if we get there.....

Guest mindfly Report post Posted May 12, 2009 Their PP is unbelieveable and wings PK is quite the opposite.. i'm very worried about that... IF wings advance from this round that is.
Reds4Life 51 Report post Posted May 12, 2009 IF the Wings advance.. Hawks know they are worse than Wings, it's in their heads - that is a pretty good advantage for the Wings Wings have better forwards, better defense and I think even better goalie. That series would not be close imho.
MotorCityMadness 388 Report post Posted May 12, 2009 (edited) Just saw the highlights of last night's game and holy crap Bobby Loo... What happened? Yes but don't forget several of those goals, particularly # 5 was an absolute unfortunate bounce for the Canucks...he stops that and then most likely the one right after doesn't happen and they would have won the game in my opinion Edited May 12, 2009 by MotorCityMadness
Firehawk 305 Report post Posted May 12, 2009 The tenacity of the Hawks scares me. That's about it. To me, it's been playtime for the Hawks. They're about to enter the 3rd round against the big boys...whether that's Detroit or Anaheim (god forbid).

SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted May 12, 2009 If the Wings advance to play the Blackhawks Pros - Wings have the number of any team coached by Joel Quenville - Wings have beaten Khabibulin in the past in the playoffs (1998 Phoenix) - Original-6 matchup, good for TV ratings in all likelihood Cons - Chicago has solid offensive pop and got to Luongo consistently when he's often deemed the best goalie out there - Just about every Blackhawk fan that's ever been affiliated with this forum has been a mindless troll, giving Blackhawk fans a bad name. Hopefully this would not be the case this time if the Wings advance, although I'm not getting my hopes up.
greenrebellion 415 Report post Posted May 12, 2009 Compared to the ducks, we would go through the blackhawks like a hot butter knife........Wings in 5. Just wait till the Hawks learn the true meaning of "team defense".
