Crazy Wings Stat

I knew he have won a few game 6s in a row, but we have won 13 straight game 6s when up 3-2 in a series. An NHL Record.

Absolutely Unreal! The boys know how to close it out that's for sure.

This would explain why it seems like the Wings seemingly never celebrate closing out a series at home...

of course Bettman paid ESPN to say that just so they jinx us! Just like mentioning the word Shutout or no-hitter. There is the law of averages going against us, BUT then again, if your are not superstitious then it doesn't matter. Still a very impressive stat!

So what is their record like in game 7's? They haven't been in one in 7 years so they're due to win one, right?

Last game 7 was vs the Avs and it was a 6 -0 win if I am not mistaking. 2002?

Anyway, that was a bad game tonight, Wings looked sloppy. They need to hit the "switch" we all know they have.

(right or wrong, they have an effort switch, we have seen it all year.)

GO Wings as always. Lets show the Ducks why they call us Hockeytown.

7-0. 2002. By far one of the best games I've ever seen. :D

Would love nothing more than for Thursday's game to recall that one.

Hopefully it's not quite that close :)

I agree I have rarely enjoyed a game more and it was especially sweet against the Avs and Roy.

It was 7-0. I know this to be a fact.

Anyways, I think we can all agree it was one of the best games in Red Wings history.

You sir are correct

May 31, 2002 Colorado Avalanche Home 7-0 W

Yes it was one of the best games in Red Wing history, the other one is getting Roy to quit the habs.

Roy's line, on the 05/31 game:

-pulled at 6:28 of the second period

-allowed 6 goals on 16 shots (on his first 2 shots, 3 on his first 5 shots and 4 on his first 8)

-it was the first time he allowed 4 First Period goals in his (then) 240 post-season game career.

-at the time, it was the most lopsided Game 7 in NHL history.

Repeating this kind of carnage would be sweet.
