Game 5 Injury Update: Ericsson, Datsyuk, Lidstrom out

<_<

Are Zetterberg, Hossa, Franzen, Rafalski and Osgood playing?

If they are, then I'd imagine we'll win. Franzen will rip out eighteen mouthguards, the Hawks will all go to the box and then Z and Hoss will just score enough to give you Detroiters double Arbys.

Ericsson was a late scratch - the team said he complained of abdominal pain after this morning's skate and was taken to the Detroit Medical Center, where he was diagnosed with acute appendicitis and underwent surgery. He is expected to return to play in the next game

I blame all this on the team doctors.

Don't know why, I just figured that since they're doctors, they must be to blame.

Amazing how other teams' players look hurt (or in Havlat's case dead) and then play in the next game. Our guys look fine, finish the game, and next thing we know they miss the rest of the series. I'm tired of this pattern.

Knowing Lidstrom's threshold of pain and competitiveness, his injury must be a serious one. He wouldn't sit out for a minor injury just because we're up 3-1.

I know people want to remain optimistic, but there is no good news in this case.

Without knowing the medical facts you'd be insane to assume the team doctors are to blame.

Right what? They caught my appendix before it swelled and in two days I was out wakeboarding.

True story. It's a pretty routine surgury guys. Nothing to worry about. The possitive thing is the medical staff recognized the signs and got Big Rig into the hospital early enough that there weren't any complications.
