SCF GAME 3 GDT: Red Wings 2 at Penguins 4

Nope, no updates on Datsyuk, his foot is still broken. I hope Hossa can channel all the hostility into his classic drives to the net! Another big game from Oz is a prereq. for a win. Can Hank ****** another goal from Crosby? Crosby will lose his mind!

3-2 Wings

Hossa, Sammy, Leino, and Hudler realize that they have a very short time until they're free agents and want to make the most of their time to make a good impression.

Wings win 10 (Hossa x3, Leino x3, Huds x3, MAF's butt) to 1 (Crosby so the league has commercial footage of him almost winning a Cup for next year's ad campaign).

Sammy gets a Sammy hat trick: Post, over the net, wide of the net.

I'm expecting a more open game than the first two. The Wings won't be able to shut down Crosby and Malkin as well when they have last change, but that also means more room for offense from Z/Mule and Fil/Hossa.

4-3 Wings in OT.

Realistically, the wings will most likely lose this one. Most players/coaches have to feel out what the other coach is cooking up for them. Usually a good coach matches them correctly, and the home team gets the win.

Game 4 on the other hand...Babcock will mostly likely read Bylsma and his intentions with the line up, to get the correct lines out there. That's when we'll win!!!

I hope for a 4-2 win. But I'm gonna go for a 3-2 loss for us.

Go wings!!!

Weather the storm, suffocate them in their own building. I need to see goals from Mule and Homer up front and protect Ozzie hard. Clear the defensive zone and make the Pens earn any goals.

LETS GO WINGS

realistically, the Red Wings should have lost one of those first two back-to-backers considering they had limited rest and no Datsyuk. did it happen? no :)

But we had last change to our line up. For these two teams, match ups are HUGE. With the Penguins having their way with match ups due to home ice, I believe they will take advantage. Malkin/Crosby cannot be contained forever. Hate them if you want, but they still are a massive threat.

I'm still pullin' for a Wings win, but not going to be upset if we don't. Sweeping the Pens is gonna take more luck than what we've seen so far hehe.

Luckily, ALL the pressure is on ONE player tonight....

THIS guy. He's not a stand up style goaltender like Terry Sawchuk, he's not a butterfly goalie like Patrick Roy or Martin Brodeur, he's not a flopper like Dominik Hasek, and he's not a hybrid like Chris Osgood, no this guy is working on perfecting the caffeinated squirrel style of netminding which can be easily recognized by trying to swat a puck away from your goal line with your rear end or "tail".

Marc Andre-Fleury, show us some of that caffeinated squirrel style, show us how to use the tail!

Now, let's watch that tail style save again

Yes fans, it's a new style of netminding to be sure. Marc Andre-Fleury is revolutionizing this game we love. He even makes a great entrance onto the ice with his caffeinated squirrel style:

Who better to have ALL the pressure on him tonight that this legend in his fans minds?

Go Wings! I think it's going to be a hard fought game. Hopefully the day off helped tremendously in terms of rest! Let's go in to Pittsburgh and get at least one of the two games. I can't really see the Pens getting swept, but it would be cool if they did! The Wings won the cup last year on my mother-in-law's birthday, her birthday is on this Thursday! I'm just sayin'!

We know we need to win this one. This might be hardest win of the series. We gotta come out strong from the beggining and play a hard game all 60 minutes worth. We got this.

We aren't gonna let them have a win to win it in 5...we're gonna finish them off and not give them a chance to ketch their breath.

Wings 4

Pens 2

With reports of Draper being healthy, how can they keep him out of the lineup. Leino has done very well in the role that has been asked of him. We need Draper's experience, face off skills, and most importantly his defense. Put him in, coach!

To borrow a mis-pronunciation from Scott Laughlin (NHL Home Ice)...

Here's to three straight games with Justin 'Ahbulldocker' sealing the victory.

No Samuelsson at Wings' morning skate

Mikael Samuelsson wasn't on the ice this morning. Kris Draper was practicing as though he was going to play. Here are the lines they worked out of ...

Franzen-Zetterberg-Hudler

Holmstrom-Filppula-Hossa

Draper-Helm-Cleary

Leino-Abdelkader-Maltby

Lidstrom-Rafalski

Kronwall-Stuart

Ericsson-Lebda

Osgood

Conklin

Hudler is back up on Zetterberg's line. Perhaps they're anticipating not nearly as much Crosby time for that line and thus a defensive droppoff from Cleary to Hudler is palatable. The fourth and second lines remain intact. The new third line with Draper and Cleary on the wings is a pretty good checking unit if they're out for much time against Malkin or Crosby.
