titanium2 867 Report post Posted June 27, 2009 Sorry if we broke up all of the non-posting in the thread at the time. In other news I hope we land Tartar AND Rajala so we can have the market cornered in small superskilled kids that should grow bigger. Screw him. That was fun. I learned that we need more Finnish guys.

sureWhyNot 19 Report post Posted June 27, 2009 heh. Too small anyhow. Not in the current NHL. He's bigger then Hudler, and a hell of a lot stronger.

Pskov Wings Fan 71 Report post Posted June 27, 2009 Instead of signing Hossa we can draft Richard Panik and see if scouts comparing him to Hossa were right.

egroen 384 Report post Posted June 27, 2009 heh. Too small anyhow. Schroeder at 22 will be one of the steals of the draft, I bet.
Probie 7 Report post Posted June 27, 2009 Please, please let Carter Ashton slip to 29th. Yeah, that would be so nice. What do you guys think about KYLE PALMIERI? I know we need to get bigger, but hes like a wendyl clark type body. Hes mad strong, he blew everyone away at the combine with his strength. He might be there at 29 but i have a feeling hes going to get picked before it.

sureWhyNot 19 Report post Posted June 27, 2009 (edited) wow. number 7. So funny how Detroit started the Russian stacking, everyone soon followed, we then start the Swed stacking and everyone starts to do the same. Edited June 27, 2009 by sureWhyNot

P. Marlowe 748 Report post Posted June 27, 2009 Instead of signing Hossa we can draft Richard Panik and see if scouts comparing him to Hossa were right. That's a great name.
dat's sick 1,002 Report post Posted June 27, 2009 Setterberg. This just does not look right. That's because it isn't. I can promise you there's not a single "Setterberg" in Sweden. I think Erixon is a just a modern variation of Eriksson, there are a few variations of it. Another Swede picked. I like this. With Sundin, Forsberg, Lidstrom etc. on the way out, we need new guys to come in and take over. Swedish hockey's future looks bright.

The Wings are going to start Finnish stackin' then. f*** the imitators, the Wings are the originators.
Systemfel 33 Report post Posted June 27, 2009 (edited) Interesting. So it's a variation?Yup. Not that there are a lot of Setterbergs in Sweden, though. Seven Swedes. Crazy. Edited June 27, 2009 by Systemfel

Actually he looks good. 5-10/190 suggest that he is built tough. Another Swede gone .

Snazzy 0 Report post Posted June 27, 2009 Schroeder at 22 will be one of the steals of the draft, I bet. Holland probably could have traded up for a better pick if he really wanted to. I have a feeling Kenny has something big up sleeve.

sureWhyNot 19 Report post Posted June 27, 2009 The Wings are going to start Finnish stackin' then. f*** the imitators, the Wings are the originators. LOL... With their track record of inserting full lines of european countrymen I would have no problem with the Finnish stack. That said, I really want (but don't foresee happening) Carter Ashton: "Ashton is just a beast of a kid who doesn’t appear to have top notch speed but does have a wide powerful stride. He did score a power-play goal on Friday night against the Hitmen and now has 25 on the season. His goal is what I expected from a guy with his size….over 6″3. He was parked on the right post and fired home a nice one timer. A true power forward if he is developed properly. He is a unique pick simply because he doesn’t have the same build or style of play than other top prospects. He is bigger than guys like Tavares, Kadri, Schenn and Duchene. He may be a little bit of a project but in the long run I think he has some top level potential." Source
