Wings Joe Louis Home Opener

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

Well I went to the Prospect Developement Camp on Saturday at the Joe to check out the new blood. During my day with the prospects, one of the Wings execs spilled on who we are playing for the first Joe Louis game for the 2009-2010 season. Wait for it...................

Hossa and the Chicago Blackhawks!!!

How sweet it is. Thought this might brighten some peoples day. Go Wings!

Yeah can we please not boo? Booing Sergei is one thing because we made him who he was and he left like a spoiled diva. On the other hand, Hossa was with us for a year and had nothing but nice things to say about Detroit. I agree that he's an idiot but booing him is just embarrassing. I don't want to look like spoiled Pens fans.

I just can't wait to see that game. I believe I'll tape it no matter what the score ends up being. I won't boo Hossa. I'm mad that he left and I think we could have worked something out but I'm not going to hold anything aganist him. Best of luck to him but I still think he has a window with the Blackhawks as far as when and if he can Win a Cup with Chicago.

Hey Jaymz99 what prospect player was sitting at your table?

The two boys from the Rimouski Oceanic, Sébastien Piché and Gleason Fournier. Jesper Samuelsson was at the table next to us.

How about you?

Also, while some fans may feel betrayed at first and boo during the home opener, I think most of that stuff is usually done towards the league goons that have left a sour taste year after year in the Wings fans mouths. Pronger comes to mind. Hossa played well for us during the season and earned his keep. Post season was a little disappointing though.

I was at the same table as you. I gave the rimouski boys a little crap for losing to windsor in the memorial cup lol. They seemed like good guys though. I wouldn't mind seeing them in a Wings uniform one day.

So you roam LGW also. Very cool. Well, now you have a face with the name, as do I. I don't know a lot about the playing styles of the two guys. Have to check them out this next season. Good to meet you and your friend too.

I think if the guy is gonna get booed he will get booed here, hopefuly wings fans wont hold a grudge all season long like a certain other team in the east.

Some idiots will boo. But I'd like to think even more people at the Joe will shut them up and send them to Pittsburgh where they can be happy morons with the rest of the Crosby gremlins.

You're classless! :P

I'm sick of hearing about who is classy and who isn't in every other thread myself. We're freakin' hockey fans for crying out loud!

That being said, I wouldn't boo Hossa and give him the satisfaction.

my prediction..... karma will get hossa and he will have a horrible season

Wishful thinking.

Booing Hossa is stupid. If that's what makes you feel better, then by all means do it. However, what exactly are people going to boo Hossa for? I can understand because he plays for the Blackhawks now, but any other reason to do so is lame. People bitched on here all season about how "classless" Penguins fans looked for their hatred of Hossa and now our fans are going to turn around and do the same thing we mocked them for doing?

To each their own. If Hossa is as bad as some people make him out to be on here, maybe you should all cheer him that he isn't wearing a Red Wings uniform next season.

I agree completely. Booing players is a joke. Come on...he told everyone he was coming to Detroit to win a cup--he didn't. Nuf said. He's gone and good luck to him. He was great regular season, but didn't show up for the playoffs. Gone...outta here...buh bye.

Agree, unless if something amazing big happened, which this really isn't..

With this being our home opener, I'm expecting we'll face the Pens for their home opener.

Nope, Penguins vs Capitals would be it, I hope.
