How does this explain Ozzie's play? I don't think 3/4 of the team being AHL players should effect his play. Even the last game he played, didn't he allow like 3 goals?

I understand it's too early to make assumptions, and don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Ozzie fan. But still...

Defense. *clap clap*

Defense. *clap clap*

Defense. *clap clap*

Plus, let's be honest-- every goalie is entitled to have a terrible game here or there, no way Babs would've kept Ozzy in net in this game if it were the regular season.

lol you mean the dyke kid

Yeah yeah, but I was trying to be funny!

At least the Leino and Filppula line was buzzing all game. No way those two get split up early on. I was hoping Leino would play with Datsyuk for most of the season so his Calder hopes would be improved, but looks like he's got enough chemistry with Filppula for the pair to put some nice offensive numbers up :)

I'm not gonna bash Osgood just yet, but it would have been nice if he took the attitude along the lines of "Gee I sucked for most of the season and didn't play well until the playoffs. This season I'm gonna treat every game as a professional and take some pride in my regular season performance".

Preseason not withstanding.

And I bet Osgood was thinking "I wouldn't care if my entire team sucked in the preseason if they actually could show up in the playoffs for me. You know, the season that actually matters."

Who gives a s*** how he performs in the preseason?

Yep-- if the Wings decide to permanently switch to a roster made up of 75% AHL players, this year's Red Wings will be terrible.

Goes both ways, Philly probably had lots of their AHL players too and they put 5 in our starter.

I know it's preseason and I know it's only one game but for heaven's sakes 3 of them off of their AHL players: Pyorala, van Riemsdyk (2).

JVR is their precious prospect, pretty much our Leino. And they actually had a lot of their NHL players out there and we had our 3rd line as our first line. This is not the game to bash Osgood, you'll have plenty of oppurtunity coming in a few weeks just wait it out.

Goaltending wasnt really as bad as it sounds... I was at the game....

The first couple of phillys goals were pretty bounces for them... They had a couple pucks bounce in front of the net and osgood didnt get much of a shot at them. vanRiemsdyk's goal was the only one i think osgood should have made a save on. He wasnt screened and he got burnt glove high. Keep in mind it was a beautiful shot, but it still needs to be stopped. VanRiemsdyk's other goal was another good bounce for philly....

Osgood had some big stops just didnt catch a lot of bounces.. It wasnt as bad as you all think...

and PS. Carcillos goal was a beautie...
