Wings played great despite only getting one point with half of our Hall Of Famers (and top scorer) out.

Lebda was a bonehead. Ozzy fell asleep. Bad line change = 1 point. Oh well, if the Wings continue playing like they did tonight, they'll go HOT and steam roll to the finals again. Rather them start off slow than to end slow.

They're an eastern team. If they were in the West, they'd be average at best. If Wings were in the East, we could play 50% and still dominate.

lol, your just full of excuses eh? The West is not some grueling battle this year, the best teams in the NHL right now are in the East, the Wests dominate powers of Calgary and Colorado, yeah that western conference is tough..

It would have been good to score, but Anderson made several great saves and kept them in it, and at the other end Ozzie gave up a terrible goal and a pretty weak one on McLeod's first shot, too. The line change brainfart was bad, but in my opinion it just came down to Anderson outplaying Osgood.

Yeah, it is true that Anderson outplayed Ozzie (the stats prove it tonight here). I just think that if the Wings had scored on that long PP opportunity, it would have been demoralized Anderson to some extent and knock him off of his game (IMO).

But, if there's anyone to blame for this loss, it's definitely the Wings for the brainfart on the line change, and Ozzie for not making the necessary saves in the final moments in the game.

Wings have plenty of issues to work on if they are to contend for home ice come playoffs, let alone to the Stanley Cup Finals.

Are you blinf HALF of them out what are you talking about??? just 2 players out, and they are not back they suck big time and big balls

Well don't f***in watch them buddy. I'm sure I'm not the only one who knew we weren't winning the cup this year. We are still a good team we just arent clutch, and our defence needs work. If you want to come on here and just say "the wings suck", "They f***in blow"just piss off. Loses are part of the game and part of being a fan.

I would have believed you pre-lockout but that's an old argument, east is just a tiny little bit behind...parity through out the league you know...

I'm not too worried right now. The standings in the NHL are laughably skewed towards the s***ty and mediocre teams from last season. Everything will settle down in time. The whole league is having a weird 2 weeks.

True and true. It's very odd to look at the standings right now, but I still have no doubt we'll see a near-reversal before the end of November.

This was a stupid loss no doubt, but remember, we didn't have Datsyuk or Franzen and we played solid for about 50 minutes. We made a real sloppy line change and had Lebda as one of our, well, like one and a half guys back and we unraveled. Yeah, it sucks. It's also the 7th game of the season. I'm not going to sweat it. Plenty of time to work out a complete game once we get Datsyuk back and by the time Franzen's back, well, you know. I still am taking a lot of positives from this game and I'm still not worried about Osgood. 3 goals on 29 shots for .896. This isn't exactly horrendous. Sure, he definitely wanted at least one of those back pretty bad, but eh, again, this wasn't even that ugly for a meltdown and it's the 7th game of the season. We'll be fine.

P.S. There's no shootouts in the playoffs. Only real hockey. Osgood will be fine.

No, Osgood let 3 goals in on 13 shots in the 3rd. Thats horrendous.

At first I thought that was the thing here in Finland. But now, after 13 games, the same team that was 11th of 14 last season hasn't lose a single game in regulation and broke the new winning streak record. Weird year I would say.

The loss doesn't matter. What matters is Red Wings showed how great they are, despite having half of our HOF'ers out. Wings ******* rock! They are BACK! I hope they continue to play hard. They just need to work on their line changes, otehr than that, they're fine

I mean the loss hurts, but i agree.. we played good for the most part, ozzie just let in a few week ones... zetterberg looked really good, and so did filpula, leino, and williams... we will get our revenge in a few days

The 50% thing is definitely pushing it, but it took them 7 games to beat an incredibly beat up Wings team last year. Sure, they won and I give them credit for making it happen, but again, 7 games and we were so beat up it's kinda ridiculous. It aptly shows how great this team was last year. And did we lose a step in the off-season? Absolutely. But so did a lot of other teams and while it's definitely a more competitive league, when the real season starts in April, the Wings will still be the team to beat out of the West.

I miss the big engines from last year, Hossa and Franzen, add them to the lineup, and also the temporarely injured datsyuk and the top two lines actually look good, the top two lines as of now are no better than any other team in the league.

And a change that would mean alot... imagine a healthy lilja playing at his best instead of lebDUH or Meech-the-mouse.

If you were watching Red Wings Live on Ustream, I have the Griffins game on now. So you can witness them come back from a 5 goal deficit

Maybe the Griffins can do things right.

Lol. Because the Islanders, Leafs and Lightning are so dominating, right? I can't help that your ignorant about the NHL and its entirety. Certainly you are welcome to your own opinion, even if it's wrong.

I'll care when it matters. It doesn't right now. Osgood could read a book in net for all I care and lose half his games. So long as we make the playoffs, which we will, I have absolutely no doubt that he'll put the book down and dominate once again. The last two years, he's arguably been the best playoff goalie. That's all I care about. If you want to s*** all over the floor and roll around in it over the 7th game of the regular season, go ahead, but I'll be the one laughing in April when you're in love with the guy again.

This I absolutely agree with. Lilja's injury is a HUGE loss for the Wings. I've said it before, but I truly believe if we had just Lilja back but still had all the other injuries in the playoffs, we would've won the Cup, and in 5 games most likely. Lebda is almost as horrible as LGW's makes him out to be, and that's really saying something.

Yeah. And if we hadn't lost, we would have won.

We've been dealt a hand by free agency, injuries, and the Hockey Gods. Either we step up and start to play well, or we don't. Time spent saying "if we still had player -X-" is just time wasted.

I think it's fair to expect your goalie to play well during the season.

With that said, Ozzie was very good in the games against Chicago, Washington, and LA, so I'm not ready to claim we've got 2009 Ozzie on our hands yet. Some more consistency in net would go a long way to helping the Wings, though.

We don't have a solid backup to bail out Osbad once he needs his midseason break to go get a new motor scooter. I'm not confident that Osgood will be able to have a good regular season.

Ozzie didn't play well but I think this loss is the teams. No goal on a 4min power play? Ericsson needs to learn when to pinch ( costs us two goals ) the second being very bad as we got caught on a line change. This team looks to me like it needs some heart. Another point wasted that may be needed later.
